Huckleberry Finn---Mark Twain

Catcher in The Rye--J.D. Salinger

The Old Man and The Sea---Hemingway

Of Mice and Men--Steinbeck

To Kill a Mockingbird--Harper Lee

My all time favorites!

I've started and finished almost all of those (never completed Mockingbird), and love them as well.

Except for "Old Man and the Sea." I figured I should read SOME Hemingway to broaden my knowledge of the classics, so I read "Old Man" a year ago as my "introduction" to Hemingway, because it was the shortest of his works. I wasn't impressed. schla03.gif

You should finish Mockingbird! It's my duty as a southern lady to compel you to do so!

I agree with you completely about Old Man...I confess I didn't get what all the fuss was about with Hemingway. Maybe I need to read something else of his...
