OldRUSHfan
Me and my wonderfully beautiful girlfriend during one of our three (and her first!) Dead & Company show at Riverbend this past June. Believe it or not, she hates having her picture taken and I got her at just the right moment (I believe during They Love Each Other)! TRF Friends- Cute GF Oracle! Taking her out to see THE DEAD, eh? Believe it or not, she hates having her picture taken and I got her at just the right moment (I believe during They Love Each Other)! TRF Friends- Cute GF Oracle! Taking her out to see THE DEAD, eh? I have slowly gotten her into them. I think she went mostly to see John Mayer, who she is infatuated with. Regardless, she really loved the shows we went to this year (Cincinnati, Noblesville, Cuyahoga Falls). Can't wait for the next show!
Principled Man
Vacationing in the KY/Cincinnati area last week, mostly to see cousins and old friends, whose children grew up calling me "Uncle". Today, those kids are all grown up, and their kids (like this special little girl named Dakota) are now calling me "Uncle". Cute Kid! You're Ok too PM! She's a zillion times cuter than me...... :laughing guy:

I've never really been into the Dead, but they've always been in the backround...I just was given an attitude that they were a non rockin' band. I've liked a bunch of the more popular tunes but they were never enough to get my interest going. I need to do a 'double take' on them...Walking DEAD Banana

I made it to Raleigh and both Lockn shows this year. Raleigh was good. Sat night Lockn just wasn't clicking. Sun night Lockn much better.

Raleigh was good. Sat night Lockn just wasn't clicking. Sun night Lockn much better. After Noblesville, we were really considering getting in the car and going to Atlanta and Raleigh. Really wish we had done that, as I could have made the drive home on that Sunday (and been massively unproductive at work). Always follow the circus when it comes to town!

Rod in Toronto
Went to see Terry Bozzio last Friday: Look at this drum kit - 8 bass drums, one tuned to each musical note: And just one block away, Alex's night club:

OldRUSHfan
My old Drum kit...and I'm wearing my first RUSH shirt from the ATWAS show in Detroit, Feb. 10, 1977 http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Me%20stuff/MyStuff-TheKit.jpg Ludwig kit, that color (and transparent)...more than a shade or two of John Bonham influence, there. ;) Actually, Blue J, Keith Moon was the inspiration for the Vistalite Kit, even though his was uncolored clear. I saw him sometime in the early to mid '70s on a TV special where he had Live gold fish in his largest floor tom! Plus I always LOVED his 'OVER THE TOP' style of drumming! Rod in Toronto
I ran the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathin last sunday, and although my knees started to feel REALLY sore on the 33rd km, which forced me to slow down and stop a couple of times, i carried on and finished on 4 hours and 22 minutes - my third best time in the six marathons I've done. But what made the day EXTRA special and made this race the most memorable I've ever run was this moment captured in the picture below - I carried my daughter for the last 100m. She loved it, and showed the medal to all her friends in school!

Carrying my daughter 100 metres would be enough for me. Well done, congrats on an amazing achievement!
Rod in Toronto
Thanks, man. I actually cried during the race when Closer to the Heart came on my playlist - I remembered that one week ago I had met Geddy and Alex, and I still haven't fully absorbed that. What a month this has been!!!!
