JohnnyBlaze
Wonderful photos! The rock formations on the coast are really picturesque.Don't want to get too morbid or to be a buzzkill (on my own pics even!!! ) but the trivia is worth commenting on (I think)...the last pic with the railing is infamous for suicides. There's a sign at the entrance of that viewing area that says NOT to walk there alone as it may cause you to feel depressed. I don't see it. It causes me wonder. But, the fact is, there are a lot of suicides that happen there.

The rock formations are pretty, IMO, but places do get reputations and then I think others not thinking clearly may tend to seek out the same places. That's too bad that such an interesting place has to have warnings.

But both places are really pretty, interesting, and inspiring.

And the cliff side area is called Sandanbeki. :) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shirahama,_Wakayama

Some expats do DO that suicide tour type thang but I don't want to specifically go FOR that. I'd rather go to the lakes around Fuji, the shrines and temples in Kamakura, or just be a fat bastard on a beach in Okinawa.

There's no actual tour but I've read a few expat mags and articles out here that highlighted all the suicide spots. One article in particular was called "Japan Suicide Tour" or something similar. It had the top 10 spots for that. I'm sure you can easily find something online about this.
