I finally got my room cleaned up and rearranged properly, so I have somewhere to practice playing the guitar (kind of teaching myself how to play it since my dad really can't help me much). My brother says I don't have to close my door to play either, since he has noise cancelling headphones. xD

I went to my parents' house tonight to find a package waiting for me. I had pre-ordered Neil's latest book months ago, but it wasn't until I opened the package that I was reminded I had ordered a signed, limited edition. Woo!

Talking to Goose on the phone. Such a pleasant and generous spirit. Not to mention, one of the few men in the world that can claim an entry into the Guinness Book of World records. His accomplishment? Eating 150 hard boiled eggs while submersed in dog urine.

He's coming to Goatnut, TN to tour the Yukon Blade Grinder HQ's, camp in my backyard, and watch his boy make new friends with my progeny. His time on Tombstone Mountain will be one to remember during the peak of an Appalachian autumn.

Always nice when I reflect on our time together in Seattle for that briefest of moments. Now we'll make new memories!

Made my day!

Absolutely great talking with you on the phone the other day. And your son...what a wonderful young man! Can't wait to see you and to get the Lads together.

At 6:47am this morning with a near cloudless brighting blue sky, I got to see the International Space Station fly right over my house. It was a very long view lasting almost 6 minutes. The highlight was when it passed almost right next to the moon. With my binoculars I was able to make out some detail of the station itself. It was a wonderful start of the day.

I've had some trouble with my Vulva lately (my nickname for my Volvo sedan), and was convinced I had a bad alternator or starter. It's been dead for a week. Couldn't even jump it without AAA's help. Took it to my fave battery place and they cleaned up some corrosion I had missed and tightened up the terminal cables. Good as new! My cost? ZERO.

Things never go my way when it comes to stuff like this. I was preparing to shell out big bucks.

It's funny that that is exactly where my brain went when you said that! I, myself, always heard Volvos were solid hardy vehicles, but have since learned differently from owners. Now to my missive...

I have NEVER OWNED A BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN ALBUM! Now, I've just bought a box set with the first seven albums in it. That's "Welcome to Asbury Park N.J." all the way to "Born In The U.S.A." it's everything I've been interested in, and I've loaded it on the comp. and now know all the songs I still remember from the radio...this last week Bruce was on "The Late Show w/ Steve Colbert" on Bruce's birthday, And last Sunday they did a section on Bruce on CBS Sunday Morning. He's just released an Autobiography and an album to go along with it. I almost went to see him in '81, and I DO own a couple of his songs played by other groups. Manfred Mann's Earth Band did "Blinded By The Light, back in the '70s, and "For You" in '80 on the "Chance" album. Both are excellent renditions of the respective songs.

As usual, this has opened me up to 'deep cuts' that I love more than 'the hits'. Wow. Mine eyes have been opened...

I've always heard that too, and in my own anecdotal experience it's still true. So far anyway, it's been much friendlier to me than other cars throughout my life (Ford, Datsun, Chevy, Saturn, BMW, Mercedes).

Fingers crossed.

The neighbors downstairs with the noisy child moved out yesterday and today....Wasn't a good move for them, they were evicted for non-payment of rent....they were pleasant enough in and of themselves.....
