What made your day today? v.2

Yesterday I set off for my little mini vacation. The route got longer than planned, and I didn't realize just how long until tabulating it now. I had to spend an hour today sifting through and cropping the scores of photographs from it.

The roads of the loop in particular were sublime driving. There were 30+ minute portions without seeing another car. Great for confident, sporty driving. 30 miles of dirt road were involved in this, too.

Absolutely worth the extra detour, as "the Burr Trail loop" is now the most beautiful place I have been to. Pictures to follow elsewhere.

Needless to say I only drove out of necessity today - out to the park to hike, and back into town!

Union reminded me to take lots before I left. And after deleting the trash and doubles I still have around 100 good ones

Some of them will appear, mainly in the photography thread. I'm a fan of that thread!

What part of 'HAPPY SPOT' are you unclear about? It's a 'SPOT' in my life where I'm HAPPY! and JR, I'm NOT a SLOTH, I'm a HOMONID.

Listening to one of my favorite sports talk shows just now, and their bumper music coming back from commercial was Working Man!

Earlier in the day, on the same station, but different show, it was Freewill.

And the past two baseball seasons, when Matt Williams was skipper for the Nats, he was on yet a different show once a week. For his walk up music, he chose Tom Sawyer.

What made my weekend:

Found these two records. They can't be bought individually but with a box set, but the store owner had split up a box set. It was expensive - cost me the same as two weeks of food, but well worth it.

Then my family (mother, brother, sister and niece) went to the Danish Railway Museum and saw Thomas The Tank Engine. My niece loves big machines and especially Thomas The Tank Engine, so the look on her face when that train rolled in was priceless. After we all took a small ride on the train she was gleaming with joy. Being part of something special that she will remember for many years makes me proud and happy :).

Discovered Nestle Outshine Frozen fruit bars. Excellent...

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Food%20-Cooking/Food-%20Outshine%20frozen%20fruit%20bars%20club-package.jpg Lots of flavors also, like Mango, Strawberry-rhubarb, pineapple-coconut,blueberry......better for me than Ice cream bars or ice cream itself! http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Food%20-Cooking/YUMMY1.gif

I just got home after having a wonderful foot massage. 75 minutes of Chinese-style foot (plus a bit of body) massage for only $40, divine!

I was at the store earlier,

And saw a guy wearing a RUSH shirt. We talked for a bit and I told him about my first concert was in 1977. He was like. :o :P

Wearing Rush shirts around town leads to great conversations!

~2months ago, pizza place wearing Rush shirt: "You like Rush? That's awesome. I remember my Moving Pictures show in '81... first time I ever got arrested man!"

My best friend from high school came by relatively unannounced to my sons birthday party. He was invited but in true form he didn't tell me he was coming. He lives in Oregon and flew down just for the day. So that was great.

and the party was mostly a success.

and I still live with the boys mother.

for now!! :dweez: :chickendance: :laughing guy:
