I can load images of Pam Andersons boobs in like 0.7 seconds now! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are sick of waiting for index pages to load, this is really...yes really the best tip for ages. Print the text below and follow the instructions. If you do not use Firefox yet...you should. http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ 12.23.2004 - LOAD PAGES AT THE SPEED OF SOUND (DSL / BROADBAND + FIREFOX BROWSER) You will have to switch from Internet Explorer, to FIREFOX. Trust us, if you have DSL, or Broadband, this is the most amazing tweak you can find. Your browser will load the site so much faster, that you will never use Internet Explorer again! - Download and install Firefox. You can import all your bookmarks, and passwords easily, with a simple wizard. - Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries: network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading. - Alter the entries as follows: Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. - Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. FASTEN YOUR SEATBELT, you've never seen a browser load this fast. This browser seems fast though from what i see so far, I may use this from now on. In the online game I play if you lag for a couple seconds then you get killed. Managed to get by without the activex plugin tho, I'm glad to say. The Sun Java handles it on it's own. I was so impressed, btw, that OE is also no longer in use on my machine. I tried it when I first started using FF and I really didn't like Thunderbird. It seemed as if it wouldn't do some of the things I was used to and I found it frustrating. That's what I do now, but the one thing I liked about OE was you could leave it open and it would check for new emails every minute or whatever. Otherwise OE sucks.
