Xanadu93
Didn't see a thread for this show (unless I missed it), so I figured I'd start it. I'll definitely be at this show, even though it's a school night, because they aren't playing in Charlotte. Who else is going? For anyone who went to this venue in 2008, what's it like? I went to the HiFi Buys Amphitheatre for my first show in 2007, but I haven't been to this venue yet.
30kwpa
I'll be taking my 14 yr old son to this one. Assuming the ticket limit will be 4 for pre-sales, my slots are filled. The Verizon... Amp... Encore Park is quite nice. The staff is excellent. It holds around 12,000. 7,000 covered, 5000 lawn. Much smaller than Lakewood (19,000, 12,000 in the lawn). The lawn isn't sloped as bad at the top like at Lakewood. The concessions work pretty smoothly. Never had a long wait for the restroom - no girls wizzing in the sinks, guys pissing on the ground, walls, stairs, wherever like Lakewood. It's in a decent area, not a shithole like Lakewood. It is in my opinion, a much better experience than Lakewood. Parking can be a real hassle though. The A and C lots are best. Lot B is kind of a hassle and Lot N - shuttle lot is, well can be a nightmare. The shuttle lots are not on the premises. They are in nearby business parks. They normally have porta-potties and trash cans. Lot A is the best. Set up well for tailgating. The parking lot people will cruise around on carts and give you trash bags. Sometimes rides to the potty. As with all outdoor venues, weather can be a major factor. There are no real sides to this venue and due to it's smaller size, rain blows in easily. At the RUSH show last time, a severe thunderstorm came in around an hour before showtime. Pretty much soaked the whole scene and washed away the seat numbers which were handwritten in chalk on the floor. I'll assume they fixed the drainage problem by now. Elder23
I will be there with a crowd again just like for S&A. We are looking forward to this.

tupelobarchetta
I'll be there, possibly with old friend who'll drive in from Knoxville. Then again, I better not say she's old. That'll make me older. Let's just say I may be there with a long-awaited friend. How's that?
skyswing
Unfortunately, we've looked at the cost and the fact we'll be needing to conserve vacation time for a standing trip we make every year the same week of the show and have decided we can't do it. Otherwise, we'd have the whole family there. (RockTheCradle, my wife, is still in the hole so to speak from missing the New Orleans show.) So we'll hope there will be a show at a venue near enough by in 2011 and our concert kitty will have more money in it. So those of you we would see this time again or meet for the first time, we're sorry we'll miss the chance to see you. Y'all have fun and here's hoping for a good opportunity next year! Personally I thought that area was a whole lot prettier when it was all horse farms and no subdivisions, but that's just me. It's as safe as anywhere else - and a HELL of a lot safer than the Lakewood area.

fordgt99
I'm planning to go. Be glad when tickets prices are listed. I went to the 08 show which was my first show at this venue. Verizon Amp. was a lot better than Lakewood, especially the staff. I didn't have any issues with parking, but then again I had what was called "vip" parking because my aunt won tickets and parking passes to the show. fordgt99
Per ticketmaster, tickets range from $40-$89. A little cheaper for the high end tickets as I think the ticket I won for the 08 show was $97, but I'd have to look. I have not found a link on the VIP package yet. http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0E00448C...01&minorcatid=1 Also Rock 100.5 FINALLY acknowledged the tour and is giving away tickets this week! Mara
Tickets on Music Today presale were shit. Best I could do for two was 25th row in the center. Nuh-uh. I did get a single in row N, Alex's side close to center and offered it to a friend, but he dithered for a while and finally said no. Hoping for better luck Friday. Mr. JD
My daughter Sam and I are attending. 13th row, Alex's side. Sam is starting college at UGA and is driving up from Athens to the show. It will be strange meeting up with my own daughter at a show (they grow up to fast!)
fordgt99
Got a ticket in sec 105 ($59 ticket before all the bs fees). The VIP package is $279 (but will end up being at least $300 after fees, if you elect to pay for parking and mailing option).
Mara
Gulp. $385 later. . . I have a VIP package for myself. Alex's side, Row C Seat 4, so it's about 8 rows from the front and very close to the center. Husband said it was okay to do this. I got him Ged's side about 12 rows back, standard package. I'll swap with him for a few songs just so he can have the up close experience. It just became more and more apparent that almost all the good Orch 2 tickets either landed in the hands of scalpers or that Ticketbastard had reserved them for the auction. GhostGirl
It'll just be me and my husband - Kerry won't be able to make it to this, unfortunately. He'd have to miss 2 days of school, (having just started a couple of weeks before) a day of football practice, and a football game - assuming he makes the team. I'll get him to a show next summer if at all possible. Anyway, best seats hubby could get was sec. 103, row N, seats 1 & 2. So, kind of meh...but at least we'll be there.
