So the announcement wasn't more than 10 minutes old when I already started planning the 4 hour tailgate. I'm parking by the exit because it can take 2 hours to get out of there . I'll be in a Green Land Cruiser with Rush playing and Beer flowing.

Might have to make a day of it also!
We'll be driving up from San Diego.
It's about time Snowtrooper Jr got to see the boys! Would be his first concert, since he's only 4!
He listens to Rush every night as he falls asleep. Currently spinning RTB, will have to change that to MP!

One of the best places ever to see a concert! Except for the getting out part. Parking right by the exit is the way to go.
And I literally live about 5 minutes from here, so it's all good.

I am thinking of going to this show as well as the LA FORUM. I would be staying close to the venue and Irvine and have checked out a few hotels in that area. It looks like the venue is about an hour in the Amtrack train from LAX - is this right? Anyone with any suggestions about transport, hotels, where to eat etc for the two venues would be most welcomed.

I don't know that there's an Amtrak station near Irvine Meadows (Verizon). Public transport in L.A. is shite unless your going somewhere that's right next to the Metro--like the Rose Bowl.
I suggest renting a cheap car and staying in Long Beach, Torrance, Redondo/Hermosa Beach. The 405 Freeway will take you to both venues. Long Beach has some walking around areas, restaurants etc.
I may be going to 1 or both shows per my budget and my wife's permission.

No luck getting seats at the Presale, as I no longer have a Citibank card.
(I'm not sure why I was able to get presale seats for Jones Beach)

Considering the trains, the Irvine Metrolink Station is a ten minute
drive or so from the venue.
I'll be at the Irvine concert sitting on my dead center orchestra 2 seats, lmao.
The place should be packed with only two s.cal. concerts. Especially with no San Diego date, and a smaller L.A. venue. People are gonna be scrambling for tix.
