I'm really trying to think of what he might come up with to top the chicken roasters. (Yes, things are slow at work).
An ATM that spits out real cash (to be dispensed to the crowd) comes to mind!

But seriously. . .what large fun object should occupy space on his side of the stage? Thoughts?

Bring back the Rickenbacker NOW

Lose the dryers and rotisseries..instead make the stage like a living room with couch, coffee table and recliner set to the left of stage(they can exit this way too) with certain time-specific Rush artwork, like the dogs playing cards painting, stuffed animals in the likeness of the snowdog and snowy owl. A flatscreen TV that plays a long loop video of everything related to Rush throughout their history. Neil's motorcycle(or a prop) sitting there next to a working refrigerator (that the guys can open and drink stuff out of during the concert) with a case of Macallan next to it for preload for the next road trip(nothing wrong with a little commercialism..its already being done of course).

Emphasis on fun!

No doubt about it and if he uses this idea I want commission. Old school 80's video game machines with Mics at the bottom. Pac Man, Dig Dug, Donkey Kong, Asteroids etc.... Every so often someone comes out with a quarter....well you know the routine. That would be so cool to have a mini arcade right behind Ged.

Lol. I fully endorse this as long as there's a Missile Command machine too.

Clever little subtlety there!

That is kind of a cool idea. And if they have the contest a la "Snakes on A Stage" type thing where two people win passes to sit onstage - they could hang on the couch!

The props have never done much for me. I want to see more basses stacked behind him and used. I want to hear more bass extensions on songs, bass solos, improvs with Alex and Neil - 'bassically' that's it. I'd also like to hear him talk to the crowd more between songs; give some insight into some songs, especially for the non or quasi-fans in the crowd that may be looking to buy some music after hearing the show. Granted most of us are "know-it-alls,' but I think it would add to the concert.

Now, if Neil would just stand up and tell a few jokes.... tongue.gif

I like the idea of a row of phone booths, with roadies periodically walking out, getting in one and making call, then leave.

I also LOVE the idea of the 80s-era video games, again, with someone periodically coming out to play and then leaving...

BUT...

Have the screen on the video game hooked into their projection screen so we can see what the player is playing and how he/she is doing. wink.gif

Or... given that NEP is a new dad, maybe a row of baby strollers parked there (empty of course) and every now and then someone takes one for a walk off stage, and comes back, replaces it and takes a different one.

The phone booths have been done, by Peter Gabriel and I think Roger Waters did as well.

Roger also used the couch set-up too.

I think Geddy should double stack some dryers and go eco-friendly (not) to balencce out Alex side, or even better try and out do Alex with wall of bass amps. He could go old school Zep and put up a wall of Acoustics like John Paul Jones used.

That would be hilarious. Imagine how thrilling that would be to sit on that couch for a song or two.

Since it's Geddy, how about a batting cage?

Ha ha. I'll be drinking something else, as The Macallan is as vile-tasting as a whiskey comes! smile.gif
