A jointer, an industrial belt sander, and a 3-axis CNC. They can build the guitars for the next night's show.

How about an Ampeg SVT stack that he was actually plugged into? Now that really would be a novelty!

I'm really trying to think of what he might come up with to top the chicken roasters.  (Yes, things are slow at work).
An ATM that spits out real cash (to be dispensed to the crowd) comes to mind!

But seriously. . .what large fun object should occupy space on his side of the stage?  Thoughts?

Bring back the Rickenbacker NOW

Lose the dryers and rotisseries..instead make the stage like a living room with couch, coffee table and recliner set to the left of stage(they can exit this way too) with certain time-specific Rush artwork, like the dogs playing cards painting, stuffed animals in the likeness of the snowdog and snowy owl. A flatscreen TV that plays a long loop video of everything related to Rush throughout their history. Neil's motorcycle(or a prop) sitting there next to a working refrigerator (that the guys can open and drink stuff out of during the concert) with a case of Macallan next to it for preload for the next road trip(nothing wrong with a little commercialism..its already being done of course).

Emphasis on fun!

Clever little subtlety there!
That is kind of a cool idea.  And if they have the contest a la "Snakes on A Stage" type thing where two people win passes to sit onstage - they could hang on the couch!

That would be hilarious. Imagine how thrilling that would be to sit on that couch for a song or two.

And drink The Macallan at the same time!

i have to agree. that stuff is rancid and i can't believe i wasted money on it. ended up giving the bottle away.

I think it should be something a little darker, like a gallows perhaps.

Or maybe even a gillotine.

I think in honour of the anniversary of GUP, they should have a bunch of vintage arcade games up there, like in the Subdivisions video.  Like Galaga, Pac Man, Space Invaders, Glaxon, etc...

That or a fish tank with a bunch of neon guppies.

two thoughts -

First would be a replica of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame building that they use in some pyro stunt during the show!!

Second would be a kitchen where they make some large vats of soup....they have joked about soup countless times.

I like the first idea better. It would be cool for the RnRHoF to explode and then leave a replica of their song writing award.

Of course they'd never do it, but imagine the reaction...they could do this right as they start the intro to The Camera Eye.

OK so many threads have I crossed in this one post???????  beathorse.gif  oops.gif

A midget running a hot dog stand should come out every 3 or 4 songs selling his product to strippers in wheelchairs wearing hockey masks. Before the next song, they would drag out these 8 foot replicas of those 'Star Wars' glasses from 'Burger King' one at a time. By the end of the show, he would have the whole collection behind him. No. That would be stupid. How about a giant lava lamp that shot sparks and lasers out of the top. Rock and Roll!

honestly none. If anything, inukshuks. How badass would that be?

That would've been pretty cool when they were touring for that album 13 years ago

  laugh.gif

That's EXACTLY what came to mind when I first read that post.

Not making fun of the idea either...just saying that it would seem weird to see TFE props on a tour that's happening 13 years after the fact.

If we knew what the new album was about, it would be easier to come up with good ideas for the stage!  yes.gif
