Permanent Waves. The 1,2 punch of Spirit of the Radio and Freewill is unbeatable, and the rest of the album is stellar.

Permanent Waves and Hold Your Fire. I can't choose any fewer than those two.

And that leaves out a ton of other astonishingly good Rush albums. But...there it is.

I've said this on, and in three other similar threads as this, which is I think it's hard to pick a personal favorite Rush compact disk, and album because they are great, unique, and reflect in each of our lives differently.
