Best Movie Trilogy Of All Time

Like mentioned other times, I would have said The Godfathers and I really should because I LOVE those movies, sadly the third one doesn't hold up to the others. So I am going to vote Lord of The Rings, not because I favour them personaly over the others but because they all hold up VERY well for the trilogy. Dollars is close second but by like 1/8 of an inch.

Why LOTR is so popular I'll never understand. There are some good movies in there that are tainted by their 3rd installment. A separate thread (ala "Which is the shittiest 3rd installment?" ) could even be made.

If Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale decide to do a third Batman film, and if it's anywhere near as good as the first two, you'll be looking at one of the very best trilogies ever.

It's funny to think of that as a trilogy since there were a bunch of other Batman movies prior to that, but it would be three in a new series.

Nolan's Batman films are so good, they have made Tim Burton's and Joel Schumacher's films irrelevant.   And even if that weren't the case, the Nolan films are, as you suggested, part of a new series. Nolan chose realism, substance and character development over style, setting his films a mile apart from the over-stylized production of the four '90s films (Burton's familiar goth look and Schumacher's campy and cartoonish color schemes).

I used to like all three. Nowadays, the only one I care to watch is the original one.

I guess that means you were a big "Space Camp" fan too, huh? Really, all Capshaw did in Temple of Doom was whine and shriek. I found Short-Round much more tolerable than her.
