As Derek has already mentioned, we didn't do La Villa.

Tom Sawyer

Tarkus407 - Synthesizer, Guitars, Bass, Vocals
Sir Lerxst - Drums, Mixing and Mastering.

I never got around to listening to this, and that file seems to be gone. Any chance for a re-up?

And, looking forward to hearing the new project!

If you just hang on for a few more days, and then that song will be uploaded again... not specifically that version, but an updated version will be.

And yes, that is a massive hint as to what 'The Project' is.

Wow, what happened to zShare? They used to be a great place to upload your tracks. They have a player there to listen to tracks, yet right next to it they have banner ads with loud audio that you can't shut off. What's the point of having an embedded media player if you can't listen to the songs? So you're forced to download the file, which is fine, but they make that a project, too.

I understand they need ads to pay the bills, but why not have ads without audio?

Anyway, after all that, I was able to d-load the sample and listen, and NICE. I think we're in for a treat here. Bring 'em!

I got the same deal. A damn facebook ad with a wheel spinning making a LOUD clicking noise.

Yea - it sounds good. The limelight solo was sounding great. Can't wait to hear all of it.

Or, as it happens, they won't be up soon (Last post was 10 months ago).

Recently discovered the DVD with all of the multi-tracks on it - or at least the ones that I mixed. Pretty sure there is some stuff here that was never released.

Wouldn't doubt it. I still have all the tracks I mixed as well. But since I moved I haven't done much of anything music related.

I also have lots of versions of tracks that were released, that I then later either re-mixed, or re-recorded my parts. Subdivisions is a good example of this. I have 7 different versions. I use it when I am trying out new mixing techniques, just because it has all of the aspects I need (Drums, Synth, Vocals, Guitars and Bass).

This is the latest mix of it that I've done. In this example I was trying out vocal harmonization techniques (in the chorus). I also added extra bass pedals during the synth solo.

Really enjoyed that. Makes me wish I could try to get closer on the solo's sound so I can make my cover of Subdivisions. I'm getting closer, but it's still not where I want it.

Again, great job, and hope to hear more. I tried the old links, and they no longer work. sad.gif

The overall mix is a little claustrophobic (emphasis on "little"), but the song sounds pretty ballsy. And the performances are real good. Excellent job, guys. yes.gif

Before you joined here, Derek was temporarily called Tarkus407... then he changed back to Tarkus406.

That mix of Subdivisions was just slapped together to test various plugins, I didn't really take into consideration the Stereo spread. It is a little 'narrow'. I should say that this song was recorded by us nearly two years ago now.

I'll upload some of the older tracks later on.

Edited to add information. I also think that Soundcloud's own processing it does when you upload music to it also effects stereo spread somewhat. I never actually listened to it on soundcloud until now. It almost sounds as if it is in mono.

Anyway, I have a list of songs that we completed. Bolded are ones I don't think were ever released.

Red Sector 'A'

Jacob's Ladder

The Analog Kid

The Spirit of Radio

Half the World

Kid Gloves

Lock and Key

Show Don't Tell

Subdivisions

Double Agent

Presto

Tom Sawyer (Twice)

Red Barchetta

YYZ

Limelight (Twice)

The Camera Eye (Twice)

Witch Hunt

Vital Signs

The Spirit Of Radio. I have no idea if this has been released before or not, but that probably just means that it wasn't.

As usual, Derek handled Guitar, Bass, Keyboards and Vocals, and I played Electronic Drums, Percussion, Piano and additional sound effects and mixed the track.
