sfuentes
Is the Not Fade Away/ You Can't Fight It record really considered the Holy Grail of all Rush collectibles? I was reading about it on a forum, and several people said that it was... http://www.2112.net/artifacts/volume1/track1/notfadeaway.gif http://www.2112.net/artifacts/volume1/track2/ucantfightit.gif
PuppetKing2112
That would be cool to have, but the Holy Grail of Rush is generally considered to be the mythical soundboard recording from the final show of the Caress of Steel tour on January 10, 1976 at Massey Hall in Toronto. Geddy's cousin supposedly has it, but no one else does. The reason it's the Holy Grail is because it's their only ever performance of the Fountain of Lamneth. Here's the complete setlist: Janurary 10, 1976 (unconfirmed headline set) Fly By Night Beneath, Between and Behind Bastille Day I Think I'm Going Bald By-Tor and the Snowdog In The End Making Memories Anthem The Fountain of Lamneth: I. In the Valley II. No One at the Bridge III. Bacchus Plateau IV. The Fountain Lakeside Park The Necromancer Best I Can-> In The Mood Working Man-> Finding My Way-> Drum Solo Encore: What You're Doing

Slaine mac Roth
I seem to be an oddity in that one of the things I would love to get my hands on is a live boot with John Rutsey on drums - preferably featuring the Rush version of Jailhouse Rock sung in Yugoslavian. Hopefull this would also feature a version of Losing Again, the first song they ever wrote. However, by far the hol grail of Rush rarities has got to be the demo they made at Rochdale College in 1972 which they managed to lose all their copies of. That would be nice to get a hold of. NeilPeartFan2112
If they made a Cygnus X-1: Book III, what would it be about? I mean, Cygnus is already the God of Balance.

Slaine mac Roth
By that I take it that you're talking about the Passaic, NJ footage that has just started making the rounds among traders. If so, you're right, its great.
kevind2112
Yes Slaine, that's the one. I could not believe I was actually watching it. I must have watched it a dozen times in like a day!

Slaine mac Roth
Its mentioned in the Visions biography. Apparently, in 1972, the recorded a demo at a studio in the college and, subsequently, lost the tapes (or destroyed them intentionally?)
