RUSHHEAD666
I just got back from eating three of those new "Black Jack" tacos at Taco Bell. Not bad, but that white sauce is too sweet. Anyway while I was eating my lunch "Ventura Highway" came on over the speaker system. I couldn't stop tapping my foot. What a great song. Agree? I think everyone on here should at least have "America's Greatest Hits" in their collection. Signed, "A Horse With No Name"
Xanadu93
Amazingly, my parents have a copy of their greatest hits in the CD cabinet. The only song I know by them is "A Horse With No Name", and probably a few others I can't think of at the moment.

Earl I appreciate the kind words but really am not close to being expert on Neil Young outside that little james taylor trivia. I do have a very trivia oriented brain and for some reason those facts stuck with me over the years. I really do love old man, and the banjo work in particular so i guess thats the reason why I remember that. I have only seen Neil Young once and it was probably on his worst tour ever. It was for the Trans tour and it was not all that great IMO.

Music is a daily learning experience for me. Too bad Neil sucked when you saw him live. I would have liked to have seen him back in the early Seventies with Crazy Horse. Great stuff. Today? Fuggedaboutit! He's too political for me with the burning of the American Flag on those big concert screens. Ventura Highway was a song I had forgotten about until the band I joined last spring wanted to play this song. It's a cool cruiser of a tune. We played it on our first gig. It makes me think of being a kid in the '70's, riding around in the back of the folk's Chevelle in Anchorage, AK.

The only song I know by them is "A Horse With No Name", and probably a few others I can't think of at the moment. There's definitely a few others you'd know if you heard them. Titles might not seem familiar, but once the songs got underway, you'd know them: Ventura Highway Sister Golden Hair Tin Man Muskrat Love (before the Captain & Tenille version) You Can Do Magic And you might also know others, like "Lonely People" and "Daisy Jane." It's not exactly the kind of music I listen to, but it takes me back to my youth in the 70s when I hear it. And all the hits have at least ONE moment that I like, a kind of "hook."
