I love Chevy Chase so I watched it. I thought it was a really good first episode. Joel Mchale seems to be a sitcom natural. I have high hopes for the show. Edited by tick

I'm a big fan of McHale's work on The Soup so I Tivo'd this and watched it earlier this evening.

I thought it was decent, but to be honest, don't think its good enough to last. Its just another run of the mill sitcom that really didn't have anything to make it stand out from the pack.

Simply because of McHale, I'll give it some time to develop. But if I weren't a fan of his work, I'd have written it off after the pilot.

Keep in mind, not many sitcoms hit a home run right out of the box. I would say it takes a few weeks to really see what the show is.

I agree, one of the problems I have with any new sitcom the habit of trying to hard to be funny and clever, comes across as forced humor. And without knowing the characters the laughs don't come immediately. Need time to develop, Community does show promise, not sold on it after one episode.

I thought the first episode of 30 Rock is exactly what you say. It sounded forced. That show became one of my favorites as the first season progressed.

I taped it and will watch it today. Its been a long time since I've seen Chevy so I hope it makes it.

Tick you are right about the shows hitting their mark, you can't really judge over a first episode. I always give them 3 and if I just haven't gotten into it by then I move on.

I never got in to 30 rock and I watched that one for quite a while because I knew the cast was good.
