I have never eaten a brussels sprout.  The smell alone is enough to dissuade me.
I haven't had an egg, in recognizable egg form, in about 33 years, since I was 8.  I'll eat things in which eggs are ingredients, such as baked goods, but if there's even a hint of egg smell, taste, or even that unique eggy consistency (think quiche), it had better not come near my plate.

I also have never had lobster, crab or any seafood except a few common types of fish of course. No sushi though. Or rabbit is another one.

Also, haggis is another. I thought Fridge was going to get me to try it while I was visiting him tongue.gif

A food I've never tried confused13.gif

I think it's more like "food you've avoided eating" than food you haven't ever tried eating.

Eggs are disgusting. hence the quote in my sig.

I am afraid of Mayonnaise. No Seriously. I freak out if Some one puts mayo on my food.

What's with people being afraid of mayonnaise? I know quite a few people now who are. Disgusted by it, I understand, but I guess until mayonnaise grows a face and yells at me for being a failure I have no reason to be afraid of it confused13.gif

When I was a child(8) My cousin gave me Head lice and My mom Used Mayo to release the eye from my hair. Form that day Forward When I see Mayo I thing of Head Lice! and them Bf them I was Cinderella in a parade My mom Washed my hair with beer and Mayo. So I hate beer too.

I also Hate lasagna because My mom made it and It tasted Horrible. That smell of it make me wanna Die!

laugh.gif The mayo I understand but the beer no.gif tongue.gif trink38.gif trink39.gif

i was watching the George Lopez show the other night.

he reluctantly let the cops into his house to arrest his mother.

the cops were white, and he warned them not to bother using pepper spray.

"we're mexican," he says. "that's like me spraying you with mayonaise."

The whole sea spiders comment just compounded my aversion to crab...

The main reason I don't touch crab is the fact that crabs are scavengers. One year, we were staying at the Embarcadero in Newport. My ex father in law had been crabbing that night, and that was what they were having for dinner. I asked him where he set the pots out. He did it in the bay. The same bay where they found that poor family chopped up in suitcases.

I told him I wasn't touching that crab.

I haven't had any since.

Blech. You can tell even in that picture that this quiche is replete with eggy nastiness.

I can't even eat anything if an egg has BEEN there. Example, I picked up a sausage McMuffin one morning at McDonald's. No egg, just sausage. When I unwrapped it, the nauseating smell of egg wafted through the car. Obviously the McD's people thought they could just remove the offending ovum from an already prepared sandwich instead of making a fresh one sans egg.

I couldn't get the window down fast enough. The egg-reeking thing was subsequently splattered all over Ga. Hwy 575.

I do know a number of egg lovers who still admit that the smell of cooking eggs is pretty gross.

I've done the oysters.

Once.

That was enough, they're gross but I tried them.

I love 'em. Could eat my weight in them.

My sister used to call them "snot in ashtrays".

I tried them once. I was little and my mom was making them for dinner. After about 15 minutes of chewing, I spit it out. scared.gif Haven't touched them since.

I love me some scallops though!

Count me in the bananas gang. I know I should be eating them but I'm just not a fan of them. Funny thing is I like banana bread confused13.gif

+ 1

I cannot stand the taste nor texture of Bananas, but I love banana bread.

Other than something when my mother cooks it, if it isn't in long enough

there are still some "soft spots" which are more banana-y and I cannot

eat, lol.

I'm not a banana fan either, and I have tried and tried to like them since they are cheap and good for you. But I just don't like 'em.

With you two on the banana bread, though. My grandmother's recipe uses so much allspice and stuff that it masks the banana flavor quite well.

I can't think of a common food I haven't tried. I can think of a lot of uncommon foods I have tried. Sea urchin comes to mind for some reason. 062802puke_prv.gif

(You know who you are, and I still owe you for that one.)

In general, I have a very adventurous palate. My parents were foodies.

My wife is Peruvian, and thus has introduced me to all kinds of weird and wacky foods, some I knew what it was others they didn't tell me rofl3.gif

Among them:

Cow Brains

Cow Hearts

Duck Feet

Cow Intestines

Didn't really like any of them. Although the Brains were in a Pasta/Ricotta dish so could hardly notice

I'll try most things...used to love escargot (snails) as a child, but cant do it now.

Common foods most everyone loves but I dont include:

Watermelon

Strawberries (Love most fruit but never liked either of these)

Lobster/Crab

Sushi (Most fish in general)

Lasagna

I notice a number of people don't care for lobster. I like it fine, but really can take it or leave it. It's not so wonderful as to justify the expense, IMO.

As long as it's not trying to escape off my plate, I'll eat just about anything...

Except Peanut butter of course. That's really just not fit for human consumption no.gif
