launchpad67a
You get 1 choice. What is your favorite song of all time. Can be from any band or artist. Tough question huh? Mine pick is 'The Last Resort' by the Eagles.

Slaine mac Roth
My all time favourite has got to be Red Barchetta. If you're talking non-Rush its generally a toss up between Kashmir - Led Zep Sweet Emotion - Aerosmith Baker Street - Gerry Rafferty Hotel California - Eagles Dancing With the Moonlit Knight - Genesis Forgotten Sons - Marillion
rickyrob
QUOTE (Slaine mac Roth @ Mar 13 2005, 07:45 AM) Forgotten Sons - Marillion What a song! also the second side of Misplaced Childhood, esp Blind Curve, the words and atmosphere - fantastic. This is in my Top 10 of all-time favourite albums Political Band of the '80s: Manics - Political Band of the '90s
madra sneachta
If I have to pick one - Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb I'm with Slaine and Rickyrob on Forgotten Sons as well, powerful song, and I was lucky enough to see them in Dublin in '85, when after performing Misplaced Childhood live in its entirity for the first time ever (and last for a while, Fish's throat gave in the following week and the UK and European tour were cancelled), the closed the gig with Forgotten Sons. Brilliant.

Daylin
launchpad, you have made me make a "self discovery!!!" I've thought about this since you posted it and finally, I can say "I do not have a favorite song of all time." Every time a song came to mind, and there were/are many, I just can't say it's "of all time," Even, The Spirit of Radio, which is my all time favorite song, cannot be used as "all time fave" Thanks for letting me get to know myself better

Snowdog
QUOTE (Indica @ Mar 14 2005, 07:59 PM) Led Zep - The Rain song (LIVE song remains the same) Man, that is a great version of a great song, isn't it? I friggin' love that one!
ES-335
The last resort is a great song launchpad, it isn't my fav, but kudos on that choice. Wow, as much as I love music, celebrate it, take inspiration from it, it is a VERY tough question. just as I type this, several choices come to mind. Here are a few: Kansas: The Wall Steely Dan: Aja Queen: The Prophet's song. Floyd: shine on you crazy diamond Rush: Freewill and Entre Nous ELO: Mr. Blue Sky Ealges: Seven Bridges road Triumph: Ordinary Man and many others ... but, if I had to choose one ... Yes: And You And I
Midway Hawker
This is way too tough to choose one song, or even 10 songs for that matter.. So I've decided to think of songs that I don't own (never bought the album) but love from Radio play, as that is the only place I've heard them.... Carry on Wayword Son - Kansas Dust in the Wind - Kansas Foolin' Yourself (Angry young man) - Styx Renegade - Styx Hotal California - Eagles Actually, that is not quite accruate. I owned the Pieces of Eight album by Styx on vinyl, but I've never owned the CD... So sue me .
Raider917
picking one song is too difficult. i always seem to have a favorite song but it usually changes too quickly for me to say only one. the songs i never get tired of are: Pearl Jam - Crown of Thorns Rush - Closer to the Heart Yes - It Can Happen Bad Company - Rock and Roll Fantasy/Ticket to Ride/I Feel Fine Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven if i were to only pick one i guess it would be Stairway to Heaven.
