I was 13 years young when I heard "Permanent Waves" on cassette at my neighbor's house. I thought it was ok, but I didn't race out to Rainbow Records to ensure a copy.

But then when "Moving Pictures" hit the streets that same neighbor came over to my house and we played "Moving Pictures" on my old Pioneer stereo.

That album changed my life. I started playing drums a few years before so I was already "in the groove." I was playing in the junior high concert and jazz bands and I was taking lessons.

I remember hearing "Tom Sawyer" for the first time and my jaw dropped.

I was instantly addicted.

I took the song to my drum instructor and I begged him to teach me "Tom Sawyer" and of course my fave "YYZ."

"Moving Pictures" isn't just a masterpiece or a perfect record, it's a life changer for me.

I know I made a comment earlier that it is overplayed, but hey, that's on me. I still love every note.

I am sure kids around the globe are hearing "Moving Pictures" for the first time and are also instantly falling in love with the record.

No band is perfect and even I like to make fun of "Test For Echo" and especially "Vapor Trails" but at the end of the day RUSH is the greatest band ever created in the Universe and Beyond.

Neil may get a lot of flack on here for his decision to pull the plug but hey, that's his choice.

I too was very sad and mad when he decided to retire, but as each day goes by the more I understand it. He is only immortal for a limited time too. Just like all of us.

I have made fun of Neil in the past but that was just for comedy.

I mean really guys, NEIL PEART is my MAN. He's on my new black and yellow California license plate for goodness sake!

I figured since he is retired why not drive around town and pay homage and respect and love for him.

I am sure some of you will thing I'm a psycho or insane but hey I'm used to that around here! LOL!

My license plate says N PEART

I LOVE HIM!!

I vote "hell no", but I can understand why some might think it's overrated.

The reason is that a lot of people consider side two to be underwhelming.

I personally never cared for Vital Signs, and didn't initially like Camera Eye (though now it's one of my favorite Rush songs); always loved Witch Hunt.

I think it's a great album, and certainly one of their best, but I definitely don't think it's their best album.
