"Dreamline"

Love Geddy singing those opening lyrics:

He's got a road map of Jupiter

A radar fix on the stars

All along the highway

She's got a liquid-crystal compass

A picture book of the rivers

Under the Sahara

And some of the truest lyrics ever written:

When we are young

Wandering the face of the Earth

Wondering what our dreams might be worth

Learning that we're only immortal

For a limited time

'Seven and Seven Is'.

Feedback songs have been on my radar lately, and last night I decided to treat myself to listening to the album just before falling asleep. Randomly enough, my ipod played the album songs in a random order, which was pretty cool - I liked the running order, finishing with 'Heart Full of Soul'.

I'd never gotten into Feedback before - hadn't even listened to all of the songs until very recently. I'm glad I've given it more of a chance - it's really very good, and I like the different style of Rush - Geddy's more down-to-earth vocals and more melodically-driven bass lines, and Neil's drumming being a bit different from usual, and Alex's guitar used more straight-forward-ly.

I can't get the line, "When I was a boy, I thought about the time I'd be a man" out of my head!

The Pass...especially the part where Geddy wails "Christ what have you done?

I listened to that song a couple of times yesterday- one live, and then the studio. Over the years I forgot how much I always liked it.

'Vital Signs'.

I've been singing it at work (when there's no one around late at night!); wish there were more Rush songs I knew all the words to and that were comfortable to sing! ;)

That is the key, isn't it? I can sing quite a few Rush songs- for about an hour or so. After that, it gets to be a strain to keep my voice in that upper register...major Geddy appreciation for what he's done over the past forty years, holy moly...
