Firefox 3 is what use now, and it's my favorite, because of the unlimited amount of great add-ons, plus it has the best interface. Second place would go to Google Chrome.

oh! like one add on i found that i'm LOVING is "Cool Iris"...

if ya'll don't have it, you should check it out. it's pretty cool.gif

I like Safari on my Mac but I also use Firefox because I can change the look of it as well. I never tried Google Chrome. Is it any good? unsure.gif

is it out for Macs yet? confused13.gif

as for the Windows version (only one i'd have any idea about), it's got advantages and disadvantages. The layout is pretty straightforward, but it's also pretty basic/crude and uncustomizable. i prefer being able to choose different skins and themes with firefox. it's a lot faster than any other browser i've used, and incognito mode is nice. some things are placed in awkward locations though (i'd like to see file/edit/etc... menus at the top of the window). all in all, it's nice as a secondary/backup browser, but i'm still more comfortable using firefox as my main, if nothing else because of all the add-ons that are available to really make it your own. Then again, Chrome is still in its early stages of life, so future releases may turn it into something even better than it is now.

I loathe IE, primarily because I've twice had malware issues that I had to have professionally resolved.

Firefox, all the way, here.

The biggest Safari drawback is that opening up PDF files makes it lock up.

That's a MAJOR drawback

I guess I'll have to give Chrome a try...especially since everything Google does turns to gold.

Internet Explorer. Everyone says that Firefox is better because its faster. Thats true, but I compared both and realized that Firefox does not load the same amount of picture or text quality that IE does. Thats why its so much faster.

i usually use safari, apart from testing website designs in other browsers. and i have no problem opening pdf files.

i would hate to have to use internet explorer... its horrible. and designing any website, you always have to keep in mind the fact that interent explorer is the lowest common denominator of web browsers.

Are you using Ubuntu? I've heard some people have problems with FF's scaling with Ubuntu, but there should be no difference with Windows.

Using IE today is just begging for mal/spy/adware.

I'm a fan of Chrome right now. I hate IE and for some reason Firefox got to bloated. Maybe I should try Opera or Safari.

One thing that I found out with Chrome is that using chrome on TRF is annoying at times......things like putting text in Bold and Italics cannot be done by highlighting the text and hitting the BOLD button. You have to hit bold twice and type the text between the BOLD icons.

And I still haven't found out how to add search bars on chrome as well....

Still better than IE........ I think I am going to re-download Fire Fox

The address bar is a search bar. It wasn't designed for addons. It's scaled down and basic. That's what makes it so fast. I haven't had a problem yet with text and it works great here. At least for me.

Can anybody answer this question: I have DSL thru my phone company. It automatically comes with MSN which sucks. I want to use another browser. Is there a way for me to move my favorites to the other browser or do I have to start all over again?

You can install Mozilla Firefox, and on setup it will ask you if you want to import you favorites/bookmarks etc......choose yes, and you should be good to go.
