RushGuru
Is this one easier? My favorite has always been Cygnus. Those synths get me every time. And I love the riff Alex plays when Geddy sings "Then all at once the chaos ceased..." Great solo, great lyrics, great drums, great bass... Everything I need in a song. Prelude would have to come in second. Sorry about the Italic signs.
Test4VitalSigns
For me it's Prelude...especially when it begins...just love that sound roaring out of the speakers to begin the epic.... grabs me every time I listen to it
Slaine mac Roth
Got to be Cygnus. There's something about it that just sends shivers down my spine.

redglare
PRELUDE!!....'specially the bit where they all break it down and Neil grooves on the triangle!!...that kicks gluteus max...to quote...and the bit where the rocinante enters the event horizon...and you get the fractured flashbacks from Cygnus X-1... Uncle
Wooh the battle! Geddy delivers the first part with such flair it sounds awesome. The middle bit kicks arse insturmently and the last cool melody where he talks about the Rocinante is just an awesome tune. I have to admit though that it took me many listens to even like this piece. I used to think it was bland and uninteresting but now I listen to it every night. I still think that like Limelight the production could do with a bit more punch but live this can't be beat (I would love them to do it live, or at least the battle and prelude.) sfuentes
Easier than 2112? You underestimate the supremity of Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres. If I could, I would argue that it is Rush's finest extended track. Precisely why I think that Hemispheres is the most underrated song in the Rush catalogue. RushGuru
I'm not underestimating the power of the great Cygnus X-1: Book 2. Its just that Bringer of Balance has always been my favorite part. It blows me away every single time I hear it. In 2112, all the parts are so awesome. (Not that all of Hemispheres isnt) I always feel bad leaving out the parts that i don't choose. I do like 2112 a tad more than Hemispheres. So maybe it was just easy for me. I actually like the Fountain of Lamneth more than 2112. I couldn't pick a favorite part of that song. They are all incredible. (IMO)
By-Tor
Prelude ironically was not a favorite the first few times I listened, but knowing the rest of the tracks now, it just screams of what`s to come.

Batman
Armageddon for me..... Some fought themselves, some fought each other Most just followed one another Lost and aimless like their brothers For their hearts were so unclear And the truth could not appear Their spirits were divided into blinded Hemispheres This gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it.
