Sodoff Baldrick
For me, there were a few surprises, even though I peeked at a spoiler setlist: 1) receiving a PM from another Rush fan with a M&G pass for me. 2) getting to meet other Rush fans from the boards I frequent. I saw them twice this year, in VB and CHI, and these were actually the first Rush concerts I've attended.
rushfreak
My biggest surprise was being in the 1st 5 rows 3 times after never being out of the lawn in 10 shows. Having Geddy lean down in my face at KC, 1st row. WOOOOHOOOOO!!! Not exactly the tour but, seeing the XM radio event in DC and getting to meet Geddy and Alex and accomplishing one MISSION while there.
Test4VitalSigns
QUOTE (kamrahai @ Sep 7 2004, 03:29 PM) I would say the Overture was a nice surprise although nothing was unexpected by the time I finally saw them in August because I knew the setlist on opening night..hehe I guess the best "surprise" for me in Montreal was having a couple of the "Trailer Park Boys" come out and feed the dryers kam Gee I didn't know that! Bubbles came out to start up the dryers in Detroit last June
Test4VitalSigns
Showing up at the Detroit gig with really shitty tickets and ending up with VIP tix!
redstar86
I particularly enjoyed seeing the parrot on Geddy's right shoulder. That was a great kick. I liked the video of all the album themes flowing into one another at the beginning of the show. That was a real treat. Animate was a great feature also. I love that song. Chasartymac
My biggest surprise was getting a phone call 24 hours before the gig offering me a meet and greet pass. (Thanks 'you-know-who'). It was almost as much of a surprise as my mate Kev got when I found I had 2 so called him to tell him 1/2 an hour before the M&G. http://www.imagehosting.us/himages/ihnp-7989.jpg
A Companion Unobtrusive
The biggest surprise was of course that they played Sweden, for the first time since the Hemispheres tour in '79. At the Globe arena, two blocks away from my home!!! On the day before the date was released, I had bought a ticket for Birmingham in Britain, as I was determined to see them when they got to Europe. Guess if I was surprised when I found out they were coming to my back yard! The Companion
