Mara
QUOTE (ozzy85 @ Sep 18 2008, 02:49 PM) No kidding. What's the Will Smith movie where he's left behind in a city with a disease outbreak? His dog and only friend got infected in a fight and he had to choke out the poor critter to keep himself from getting bit... Harsh. I did not see the movie for that reason. circumstantial tree
QUOTE (ArrowSnake @ Sep 18 2008, 01:38 PM) The Straight Story (David Lynch) Yeah, that's another good one. Don't know if it brought tears to my eyes, but I'm sure it did with some. This movie has Sissy Spacek in a supporting role. I forget the actor's name in the title role, but he played her father. Hatchetaxe&saw
Titanic (for wasting 3 hours of my life) Fearless, with Jeff Bridges got me. And Kes, wonderful Kes, it was shown on Irish TV yearly when I was younger. Honest, brutal film, the sense of hopelessness in every scene is incredible, he has one source of joy and then..... Jesus it's some movie. I'm nearly tearing up here (it's dust in my eye, honestly). Brian Glover was superb as Mr. Sugden.

ozzy85
QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Sep 19 2008, 06:12 AM) Titanic (for wasting 3 hours of my life) I can't believe I sat through all of it, in a theater, no less. My back was in screaming pain from sitting in that shitty little seat. Wish I had brought in some whiskey to make it more tolerable and dull the pain. Yes, and I think the actor in the title role died shortly after the movie was made. I'm sure there's a bunch of movies that got me a little misty, and that scene in "Dances with Wolves" where those idiots shoot his horse really pissed me off, but the hands down tearjerker was "Terms of Endearment". I only saw it when it was originally in the movies, never got around to seeing it again. Plus, it had the great Jack line, "I'd rather stick needles in my eyes"

JohnnyBlaze
QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Sep 5 2008, 12:47 PM)QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Sep 4 2008, 06:14 PM) Men don't cry. You've NEVER cried at any point in a movie? Not even a sniffle? I doubt that. I can't tell if Jack's being serious or not. I don't agree with that sentence BUT I've never cried in a movie before. Never. Other things, sure. When I was a kid my parents often took me to the cinema. We watched everything including horror movies (just the ones with ghosts or demons like The Omen). As a little kid I was scared shitless and was scared of the dark for a few years. But I remember them repeatedly telling me, "It's just a movie. It's just a movie." I guess that's part of why movies have never affected me that way...that and me being without a soul
Garden Dancer
Jack Patch Addams The Sound Of Music Music Of The Heart Mr. Holland's Opus It's A Wonderful Life Dangerous Minds My Fair Lady Dogma (It had a few moments that got to me...) Free Willy Flipper Dances With Wolves I also cried my way through many of the Harry Potter books, much more so than the movies. For me, the books hit harder... Inthend
Cool thread. I watched Angel Eyes with J Lo and Jim Caviazel today. I teared up some at Jim's graveyard scene and J Lo's reception video scene. Pretty good movie if your in the mood. Great couple movie.
