I can't believe that so many of you haven;t seen this (at least those here in the States).  Stephen Colbert's show is hilarious satire of the overly serious, know-it-all cable news host.  If there is an interview segment don't be surprised if he is seemingly hostile towards the boys as it is part of his schtick.  I'm sure there are tons of clips on youtube.  Check some out.  Also, check on there after the show airs for the Rush segment.

I watch The Daily Show every weeknight (the show Colbert was originally on) and while I do think Colberts show is funny, I cant watch it very often because (to me anyway) the stchik gets old quickly. But I will definitely be watching it this time!

Though I have to say I really wanted to throw him a party after that speech he did at that big dinner at the white house.  rofl3.gif

Someone please record it from TV!!!!!

Actually, you can watch episodes of "The Colbert Report" for free on comedycentral.com after they're aired.

BTW, for those of you who haven't seen it, here's Colbert's finest moment:

Needless to say, he wasn't invited back to the Press Corps dinner the next year.

Here's him on O'Reilly too:

I'm really pumped to see him interview Rush.

Haha I had seen that first clip (that guy was my hero after that haha) But I had never seen the O'Reilly interview before. Is O'Reilly just being cheeky or does he really not get that Colbert is making fun of him? haha. How awkward.

You know what? "Tom Sawyer" is a f***ing great song. So I'm fine with them playing it.

If Rush gets the "Colbert bump" then great.

What's really awesome about this is that I have a friend who refuses to listen to Rush because he think they're "weird music", but he is a big fan of Colbert.  I hope he watches it.  1022.gif  2.gif  1022.gif

The Repor is second only to The Daily Show for sarcastic hilarity. I can’t wait for the interview, to hear the boys hold their own. I think TS is the perfect song for them to play. It’s easily accessible to all listeners while being somewhat progressive, they always nail it live, and it will probably lead at least some of Colber’s young audience to explore some of Rush’s earlier stuff. There’s a reason it’s their biggest hit.

As far as playing TS, I don't care if they get up there and set the weather forecast to music, it's still awesome!

The Colbert report? Gimme a break...

If anything they should be on the Rick Mercer report. Colbert just ripped RMR off.

Oh well, I guess I'm happy 2.gif is on the boob tube. biggrin.gif

I can see Colbert taking up the challenge to get Rush into the RnR HoF after the show.

"What do you mean, you guys are NOT in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame?!?!?!"
