Post them here. (Apart from Geddy Lee!)

My all-time favourites in over 25 years of listening to music are:

(not in order of preference as they are all good for different reasons)

David Coverdale

Jon Anderson

Robert Calvert (RIP)

Ronnie James Dio

Peter Gabriel

and a special mention, because he's not anywhere near as famous as the above:

Toby Jepsonof the Little Angels, who were a band waiting to happen, but never really did.

Hmm, that's a poser and no mistake as there have been so many I've admired.

Top of the list, without a doubt, has got to be Peter Gabriel. The man's voice is astonishing and his ability to chop and change is great.

In addition, in no order, I've also got to mention

Robert Plant

Sean Harris (Diamond Head)

Geoff tate

Paul Rodgers

Freddie Mercury

Pete Goalby (Uriah Heep vocalist in the mid 1980s)

Phil Mogg

Gary Barden

I'd forgotten Ian Gillan, how could I forget to put him in the same sentence as David Coverdale?? doh.gif ....

Coverdale was good at the deep 'manly' voices, difficult to describe really, very strong vocals; example 'Fool for Your Lovin', wheras Gillan was better at screaming, and the higher pitched vocals. Both very similar, but at the same time different wacko.gif ...best at 'Child in Time', 'Fightin Man' (this song is fantastic!). Since I'm on this DP/Whitesnake connection, I also loved Ronnie James Dio, I believe he was only about 5'2" (?) but packed an amazing voice. Rainbow's version of Mistreated on the 'Live' album sung by Dio is brilliant.

With regard to DC, I'll admit that I liked him when he was David Coverdale, the English blues/rock vocalist. I saw Whitesnake twice in 1983 and 84 and they were stunning both times.

Then 1987 came along and Whitesnake turned in an Pop/Rock band.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

As for Slip of the Tongue (shudders)
