You know, I'm going to feel sufficiently depressed when the tour section of the forum is closed and I can't check out the feedback from the various tour stops. Its right about this time that I start to really start jonesin my Rush fix..... The seats looked great! PTA
Mara
QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Jul 24 2008, 11:46 AM) QUOTE (Marathonist @ Jul 23 2008, 08:09 AM) I had a great time last night meeting everyone. Sadly, I missed GhostGirl since we had to leave before she arrived at Champps to pick up her tix from glennb2112. Horrible storm beforehand, but it sure cooled things off! My husband was a "live Rush virgin" prior to last night. He liked Rush before, but he LOVES them now! He was truly awestruck all through the performance; said it's the best show he's ever seen, from any act! A new convert! Hope everyone's experience was as great as mine was, and that everyone made it home safely afterwards. I wish I could say that this whole experience was great, but...it wasn't. We had trouble from the beginning...trying to leave home early (HA!), then we got stopped for over an hour by highway construction on I-20 east of Anniston, then we went through a thunderstorm. By the time we got to our hotel, it was already 6:00 p.m. We ran in, checked into our room, changed clothes, ran back out, drove to Champp's, and by then it was 6:30 and ES-335 and Marathonist had already left. We did get to see glennb2112, and he brought me a really cool present. I will post pics when I can. The storm we had driven through by then had reached Alpharetta, so we drove to the venue and found our parking lot through the deluge. We only got a little wet getting to our seats, which turned out to be really great. Alex's side, about 17 rows back...great view of the stage yet close enough to see the guys' expressions. The show was wonderful - the sound was really great, and David and I really enjoyed the whole thing...even slogging around in the inch of water on the floor. I went down at intermission and visited with ES, but I never could figure out where Marathonist was. I hate we missed each other. Overall it was a fun show, but the pre-show stuff certainly didn't work out like I was hoping. Next time it will. Thanks again to glennb for the help and for hanging out with me and David after the show. It was great getting to know you, man! We were about 9 or so rows behind you on Geddy's side. Sucks that we missed each other, but I'm glad you made it on time and didn't get too wet! Man, they were on big time, huh? I'm sad the tour is almost over (after tonight ) and there are no more chances for me to catch them. But they've earned a major break and some serious R&R. Hopefully Neil will have a new book during the hiatus! (Besides the photo comapanion to Roadshow, due out tomorrow!)
GhostGirl
As promised, pics of the present glennb brought me. These pics don't do it justice - it's an awesomely cool Rush purse. One side is an actual Signals LP album cover: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v297/RushBabe/0724082025.jpg And the other side is an actual Signals LP: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v297/RushBabe/0724082026.jpg Inside I found a Starman decal that I'll put on my car (when I clean the old stuff off the back window) and a Vapor Trails numbered print. You rock, glenn!!! Thank you so much!!!

And here's my only other Atlanta-themed picture for now. Proof that I did, in fact, see ES-335 again. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v297/RushBabe/0722082138-1.jpg EDIT: the pic was taken down on the front row (where HE was sitting) during intermission. Michelle, I really enjoyed seeing again. Although there was this concert thing going on ... I was really looking forward to seeing you again. It has been over 4 years ! I wish we could have talked more at the pre show ... we only live a few hours away, so we really need to arrange a mini trf meet up sometime. I also enjoyed meeting Red barchetta, Marathonist, test4eko .. and everyone else. Forgive me if I didn't mention someone ... I get confused as to who is on which board etc ... Btw, I got a Henhouse shirt!!! woo hoo!!!
