Ever since I saw this band's video on MTV about 15 years ago I site the singer from Dinosaur Jr. as the worst I've ever heard. Good guitarist (I guess), but just awful singing. But they're bad singers that I like. Unfortunately, alot of the new British scene is like this. New bands are so damn insistent on keeping themselves 'British', they don't string enough notes together to create a melody. Apparently, singing in a coherent melody is too 'American' Yet somehow, Klaxons manage it perfectly. Sounds like a nasal whine to me, and it doesn't take long to get on the nerves. I also agree with the Janis choice. Shoot me. And I'll get killed for this, but... James LaBrie. It's not that his tone is bad or anything, it's just that his voice doesn't suit the band, IMO. LaBrie belongs in an 80s hair band. If it weren't for his voice, I might actually listen to the five DT albums I have; God knows the instrumentalists are all extremely talented.
