CeeJ
Moments that you spend with your children are the GREATEST!!! I find it quite amusing that when I try to figure out how long ago something was... I know how old my son was and that is how I calculate them. I can clearly remember being at my grandmothers home and dancing with my son to Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra. When I think of those happy moments when he was just 5 and 6 they make me smile. Every now and then, now that he is 19, I can still get him to dance, but just for a few seconds. Carry with you these memories and cherish them always. Thats why Time Stand Still almost hurts to listen to now, for me. Im in a joyous time with my three kiddies (7 and under), my littlest being a little girl, and I soak up EVERY minute, and then later, sometimes feel a tinge of sadness knowing they are growing up and someday this will all be a memory. I danced with my little girl the other day (shes 2) which of course is I just pick her up and dance, and she was giggling and laughing, and thinking I'm oh so funny and so cool, and I chuckle as I think that someday shell just think Im an unreasonable old fart who doesnt understand her So, I enjoy as much as I can, every single day. closer2heart
Happiness is watching your child grow up and figure out this big old world...and all the laughs that come with it, like when your 4-yr old asks you "mommy, do you like boy music to be cool?" That's when you know we are born with so much stuff already in our heads!!! Thank god he likes Rush!
afurrything
I thought I was the only one who calculated time by knowing how old my kids were at the time!! I am at the end of a long court case, been going on since 2005, and when they ask me questions I always have to figure who was how old at the time and I can give them the year of when it happened. My oldest is now 19 and my youngest are my 2 year old twins. I have 8 kids. 2 boys 6 girls. It is sad knowing that my twins are probably my last babies, I am 40 now! So far my kids listen to my music. My oldest, Emaline, went to Rush with me twice, the first time I think she was 4 or 5. She has also been to see Pearl Jam with me twice. I can't wait until my other kids get older so I can start taking them. My son's middle names are Neil and Alexander, and my twins middle names are Pearl and Vedder. Poor kids. closer2heart
I remember once I was trying to hide tears from my 3 yr old so I had sunglasses on....he spotted one tear on my cheek and pointed at it and said "mommy, what's that?" then he points his finger up and goes "wait, I'll get you a tissue" which made me cry and laugh at the same time! How precious! When I'm trying to hide tears from mine I tend to use the excuse, "no, sweetie, there's nothing wrong; mommy's just tired." My kids are getting older and wiser; the other day I mentioned how tired I was and my youngest, 9, got very concerned and said, "are you going to start crying?" Don't know what I'd do without my precious lambs...
