I'd say for the most part they are born with a forum, Knowing people who set it up helps,As they can trust you as a friend to moderate properly, They'll need people who have the time to spend on a forum, along with people who can make good posts and not start trouble, Cant let any screwball moderate.

Thats what i think anyway

My best online friend is the owner/moderator of a Jarre forum I use to frequent, and he offered me to be co-moderator. tongue.gif (I declined though)

So yeah, one way is to know people. tongue.gif

My understanding is that around here you need to sleep your way to the top.

NO ONE becomes a mod here unless they sleep at LEAST 8 hours a night. schla03.gif

Besides that, people are asked to become mods by the three admins. We do not appoint them because they volunteered or asked us first, or on recommendation from someone else. And we aren't looking to add anyone to the team at this time.

I don't want to be one, it's just one of those things I've always wondered.

You're funny GE. You always know how to crack me up. I am already a moderator on another forum, so one I think is enough for me to handle thank you. You don't see me asking now, do you?

A case of this might not be a bad thing to give some of the admins and mods to increase your chances of being the next mod:

You'll have to do better than that! laugh.gif
