Marcus, my trolling drummer likes them. I like the songs he has showed me 1022.gif

thats probably because Marcus knows that Blake Richardson is one of the best up and coming drummers! 1022.gif

really everyone is the group is pretty sick.........

I only have Colors and Alaska and I love them both dearly. I suppose I should get the rest of their stuff, eh? trink39.gif

The Great Misdirect is killer. Particularly Swim To The Moon.

I only bought Alaska a few months ago but really like it. I have disc of cover songs " the anatomy of". its alright but not all that great. their cover of bicycle race is my fave from that disc.

SWIM TO THE MOON!!! 1022.gif

The whole album is great, but this has got to be one of the greatest songs ever written.

I agree. STTM has got it all emotion, raw energy, virtuoso playing and a wide variety of styles. The song is so long and complex it took me forever to fully digest it. Its all i listened to for a month or so.

first, the new disc is f***ing killer.

secondly i just saw these guys again for the third time on saturday night and they absolutely destroyed it. the energy they kick out is fierce and the playing is up there with best IMO.

The Ocean opened and they were OK, Job For A Cowboy followed and was pretty poor in my estimation.

setlist was:

1. Specular Reflection

2. Augment of Rebirth

3. Lunar Wilderness

4. Sun of Nothing

5. Ants of the Sky

6. Guitar Solo

7. Swim to the Moon- instrumental main jam only

8. Drum Solo

9. Fossil Genera - A Feed From Cloud Mountain

10. Selkies: The Endless Obsession

the us tour is over, now they are going to overseas with the awesome Animals As Leaders.

I love Between the Buried and Me. One of my all-time favorite bands now. Can't wait to see them with Animals as Leaders and Tesseract in November! Should be a killer show. The new EP is pretty sick as well. But as of now, nothing will ever top Colors.

yeah, i have never heard TSOTT but hear its great.

i listened to naked city for the first time in years and it blew my mind how similar that disc is the music btbam make. from over the top frenetic music to super tasty mellow back to over the top again.

never heard of modest mussorgski before.

I don't think they can top Colors...

I think that's all I need of these guys...

They have some gems in their other albums and The Great Misdirect is awesome, especially mirrors, but it kinda drags here and there. Colors is the best.
