Last night I watched Equilibrium (2003), very very similar to the story in 2112. What other ones are there?

That's the one with Christian Bale, right? I liked the 'Gun-Fu'.

Yah I never heard of it before. I was over at Signals1982's brother's place on the weekend and we got talking about 2112 and he says I need to borrow Equilibrium off him.

Very amazing Sci-Fi movie. Christian Bale was excellent.

Definitely "The Lathe of Heaven". Sci-fi story written by Ursula K. Le Guin. It's about one man's dreams becoming reality and being used by a dictator/doctor to establish a socialist Utopia. It is so indicative of the 2112 theme. I wonder if Ayn Rand's "Anthem" could ever be made for the big screen. That story seems to translate well whatever the medium.

I also agree with an earlier poster about "THX 1138". An absolute classic in every sense of the word. This was the first future-plausible sci-fi film that really dug it's way into my soul.

THX 1138

Furie, just wanted to give you props for bringing this one up. What a wrenching yet beautiful story that was, huh? Just magnificent and touching the way true sci-fi should be. I don't want to spoil the ending for possible future viewers, but perhaps the most dramatic moment in hard sci-fi history. Unforgettable.

How could we forget 1984 or Farenheit 451?

They are planning a remake of Logan's Run soon.

Just what we need - another remake sarcasm.gif

Sometimes I think parts of Dead Poets Society, esp. with the boy Neil whose father doesn't want him in the play. Like the father represents the priests of Syrinx.

Yep ... I can see that ....

I love that movie, as sad as it is.

Logan's Run is the first one that came to mind for me. Who remembers both the movie and the TV series?

First time I saw the movie was when I was 4, and I think I remember one TV episode he used that awesome gun of his to blast holes in a sheet metal to make a ladder to climb out of trouble,

That black uniform with the gold stripe on his chest was way cool too biggrin.gif
