About ten seconds from now you'll hear a knock at your door. That'll be me.

I'm right behind ya! Save some for us, Jack! http://www.therushforum.net/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

The other day my mom baked a huge coffee cake and two loaves of pumpkin bread. . .yummm. I also love the smell of those cinnamon and spice candles that you can get this time of year. And of course the smell of the Christmas tree. http://www.therushforum.net/html/emoticons/smile.gif

The vomit of children who have indulged in too much Christmas candy and excitement.

The despair of the homeless.

The sorrow of those alone on that day.

The hate of countries divided.

The pain of those in hospice dying.

Dude, or dudette,

I enjoy your posts but you gotta be just a little more optimistic. I'm not talking Pollyanna but holy jeez...

Just thinking of our fellow man.

I find it good to stop and think of those more unfortunate than I.

These are, after all, smells of Christmas as well?

That is all.

We got the full-on real tree, and it is awesome!!!!!! There really is nothing like the smell of a real tree, and it is a whole scene going out to cut down the tree. I shall post some pictures later (when I'm a bit more sober) to try and convert the "fake-tree' people. http://www.therushforum.net/html/emoticons/1022.gif

Christmas Cookie Mix

Cookie Mix

1 cup of water

1 tsp baking soda

1 cup of sugar

1 tsp salt

1 cup of brown sugar

4 large eggs

1 cup nuts

2 cups of dried fruit

1 bottle Jose Cuervo Tequilla

Sample the Cuervo to check quality. Take a large bowl, check the Cuervo again, to be sure it is of the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink. Turn on the electric mixer...Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar...Beat again.

At this point it's best to make sure the Cuervo is still OK, try another cup... just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit, Pick the frigging fruit off floor... Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers just pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the Cuervo to check for tonsisticity.

Next, sift two cups of salt, or something. Who giveshz a sheet.

Check the Jose Cuervo. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven.

Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window, finish the Cose Juervo and make sure to put the stove in the dishwasher.

Anyway, it's so nice to smell the fresh pine... and the cookies in the oven... and the hot cinnamon cider... MMMMM http://www.therushforum.net/html/emoticons/drool1.gif

Just spent 3hr. making sugar cookies shaped like shoes, then stuck a candy cane on the bottom to make skates. Hope those little brats at the piano recital appreciate my efforts http://www.therushforum.net/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.therushforum.net/html/emoticons/doh.gif

Ok, it's not a smell of Christmas, but a taste. Every year at Christmas I give myself a treat. A local chocolatier makes choclate covered popcorn. It is a little pricey (hell, it's a LOT pricey) so I limit my intake to once a year at Christmas. At first I thought the combination sounded too weird to be good but then I tried the free sample http://www.therushforum.net/html/emoticons/tongue.gif It is outstanding.

Oh yeah, yesterday when I was picking up my chocolate popcorn they had a new item to try: chocolate covered Nutter Butter cookies. They were outstanding and lasted about 10 minutes http://www.therushforum.net/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif If you guys can't tell, I love chocolate
