Sweet...Loved it! If you don't mind I'm going to use your tracks to make a new version. With some Sitar, Drums, Bass and Auto Harp. Mabey a little Native American Flute also. All set in 'half time'. Should be very cool!

That is bloody awesome. I think, out of all instruments, the piano can be one of the most versatile of solo instruments and you may have just proved it.

Maybe you could go round all the Rush wwebsites and record piano versions of the songs to replace all those incredibly annoying midi versions that drive me up the wall - especially when they intrude on the proper version of the song that I've got playing annyway

I have yet to hear a midi file I like. I don't think I've ever let one finish... ever.

Listening now, sounds excellent!!

Have played piano myself for 25+ years....

Question: Electronic Keyboard or real piano? I think keyboard?

It's a real piano. The giveaway is the bridge section where I perform the "key-bounce" muting method called Depuche D'Telle. That something I haven't been able to find any decent reproductions of. I have some really good piano samples too, though...

If I were given the opportunity to do a Piano Tribute To Rush, what songs would you guys suggest I do?

Are you talking all solo piano like your version of Trees (which I loved BTW)? Have you ever played any Rush on a harpsachord? Wonder what THAT would sound like??!!! Just wondering out-loud. http://www.therushforum.net/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

Have you written this out or paying off the sheet music.?

No, I haven't written it out for piano. I rarely chart the parts for anything that I play on my recordings. I like to get my parts under my fingers and really know them before I record or perform them.

Although I'm a decent reader, I am a much better performer when I know where I'm going by memory.

I did chart the parts for 1st & 2nd violin and viola for this song for ESR. That was because I only played cello & bass on that album.

It would be cool to do Broons Bane on Harpsi then go in to Trees on piano!

Cool idea! http://www.therushforum.net/html/emoticons/1022.gif

Can I borrow that one?

Actually, if I did get the opportunity to do a piano tribute, I think I would do it predominantly with piano only. Perhaps a couple of four handed performances, and maybe some simple synth or string pads to support soft parts, if needed.

After I listened to your "Trees" clip last night, I was looking through the tourbook, looking for other song titles that would translate well to the piano. I'll get back to you with a few suggestions. http://www.therushforum.net/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Great choice of a song! Certainly use that idea, if you think it sounds good, of course! That would be awesome! http://www.therushforum.net/html/emoticons/new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif
