If I were given the opportunity to do a Piano Tribute To Rush, what songs would you guys suggest I do?

Are you talking all solo piano like your version of Trees (which I loved BTW)?   Have you ever played any Rush on a harpsachord?  Wonder what THAT would sound like??!!!  Just wondering out-loud. laugh.gif

It would be cool to do Broons Bane on Harpsi then go in to Trees on piano!

Cool idea!  1022.gif

Can I borrow that one?

Actually, if I did get the opportunity to do a piano tribute, I think I would do it predominantly with piano only. Perhaps a couple of four handed performances, and maybe some simple synth or string pads to support soft parts, if needed.

After I listened to your "Trees" clip last night, I was looking through the tourbook, looking for other song titles that would translate well to the piano. I'll get back to you with a few suggestions.  biggrin.gif

Hmm, piano only Rush arrangemnts.

Off the top of my head the ones I think could work are:

Tears
The Sphere
Different Strings
Losing It
Second Nature
Mission

Great choice of a song!  Certainly use that idea, if you think it sounds good, of course!  That would be awesome!   new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

How'd that happen?!? Very kewl..... Lucky I guess...

A little 335 story:

I had a neighbor here in Nashville when I first moved here in '89...

Long story short....Her husband passed away and she needed help cleaning her house up to sell it and move to Kansas with family.

She said I could have anything that I wanted....

... After cleaning everything out .... we went into the attic and after digging through the trash and boxes and stuff, I found a 1962 ES 335 in its original case covered in dust...

I pulled it downstairs and freaked completely out.... BRAND NEW condition ... Ms Mable gave it to me and it is a masterpiece in my collection and absolutely in the same brand new condition it was in when Mr Mable got it and now that I've had it for 15 years!

It had the original strings on it that were put on at the factory. She said that Mr Mable bought it with the intention of learning to play after retirement and never even played it....

It is a treasure and it is REALLY freaky that I ended up with that Member Number!!!!

..... Hey don't be lookin at my member number ....LoL !!! dazed025.gif

How about Everyday Glory on the piano..  ?   One of my favorites.

Something newer.  Maybe something off of G\P.  Something you would never think would be a piano song might be the coolest one to do smile.gif

Not to be a cop out, but I'm sure whatever you choose will be good.  I have listened several times to your piano version of The Trees and am a huge fan of the ESR disc.  You'll never have to worry about being appreciated.  Thank you!!!
