anagramking
It's a done deal. Sosa is in Baltimore now. Hairston is in Chicago. The Cubs signed Burnitz, better known as the Old Maid in this year's free agency deck. The soap opera is over in Chicago.

anagramking
People always talk about the AL East with Boston and New York, but the toughest division this year is going to be the AL West. Only four teams, but any can win, and any can win over 90 games this year. Had Dimitri Young not gotten hurt early on, they might have won a few more games. Their starting pitching still needs to develop some more, though. The Indians have to improve their pitching staff this year as well. That's what killed them last year.
anagramking
Cubs trade reliever Kyle Farnsworth and player to be named later to Detroit for three minor leaguers. Farnsworth throws serious heat, but is a head case. I saw him walk four batters in a row in St. Louis to lose a game last year. He looked messed up on the mound. This could work out for both teams, or it could be a nonevent. The Cubs had to trade him.

Sounds like a gamble from my perspective.
anagramking
The Cubs announced they are going to retire Ryne Sandberg's number 23. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/news/mlb...s_mlb&fext=.jsp Nobody can practice much in the Cactus League right now because Arizona has been getting record rainfall this year so far.
