Schro
Erm, anyone know best way to get tickets for this show? Would like to see this performance with my brother. But I don't see them on the pre-sale or ticketmaster.com list? Am I too soon? Too late? What are those headlights coming at me.. I can't look away.. help. Edit: Ok, I found another list that shows 4/14/07 as start of ticket sales. Sorry, brain cramp. Move along, nothing to see here.
hulkhogan
I will be there. It is also possible that a few people will go with me, but no matter what, I will be going. I have never seen Rush before, and I will not miss it.
redlake
I wish I could go, but my daughter starts kintergarten that same week, and I cannot justify pulling her out of school for a concert. It's a shame it wasn't a summer date. Oh well.... Y'all will have to fill me in on how good the show was - I'll live vicariously through you. Riverport (i like that name way better than the changes) on the 14th, they give out line tickets then they draw to see who gets to buy tickets first from the line. It works pretty well, got 2nd row on R30.

The D&B's located at 13857 Riverport Dr Maryland Heights, MO 63043 is about 1 mile from the venue (14141 riverport is the venue address) last tour Pix and I showed up about 2:30, but most people filtered in around 3:30-4:
Nim2
Sounds like a party! I will close my office earlier and get there earlier this time. I didm not realize it was about a 5-6 hour drive for me.
Freewill777
My friends and I usually go to the bar in the Holiday Inn pre-concert. Its usually filled only with people going to the show and is cheaper and closer than Dave and Busters. Just FYI

friendlyvoice
Saw the opener in Atl. and thought that would be it for this tour...but in a few days I will be buying tix for St. Louis. Whoo-hoo!!! However, unlike the Atlanta area & the venue there, I know absolutely nothing about this venue or the area. So any info from those familiar is welcome...what's the venue like...any good places to eat nearby...is it easily accessible or a traffic nightmare, etc etc. Thanks! hulkhogan
Great questions! However, I do not have the answers you seek. I never really thought about traffic being an issue for whatever reason, but now that you bring it up, I too am curious.
friendlyvoice
I'm sure as we get closer to the show date we'll see a lot more traffic within this topic and some good info from those familiar with the St.L area, etc. Your first show, eh? You're going to be absolutely blown away. I guarantee you will enjoy every minute.
Space Ghost
Being an STL native and attendee to many a show @ Riverport (I refuse to call it by its ever-changing corporate sponsorship name), I'll be happy to give you the lowdown on some of these queries. First of all, click on THIS LINK to see a hybrid map of the area to follow along. If it loads correctly (fingers crossed), you should see the amphitheater centered at the bottom of the pic. If not, adjust your view accordingly. Pre-show party - Dave and Busters (the white, rectangular building at the top of the pic, near Hwy 70) is shaping up to be where most of the "board peeps" will be going (not only this forum, but also RushTour and Counterparts). It's especially cool if you have kids coming with you since they have a huge gameroom they can hang out in while the adults get their buzz on at the bar! There are other watering holes in the area, but having not been to any of them, I can't say what they're like. Parking & Traffic - This place can be a PITA to get in and out of, but if you've got an extra 20 bucks for VIP parking, it'll be relatively painless. As you can see on the map, Riverport Dr. is the only way in and out of this place. You'll also see the parking lot closer to the venue is a lighter shade of gray than the lots just to the north. The darker lots are the General parking lots and the cost is included in your ticket. That's the good news (first!). The bad news is that when you exit after the show, they funnel you back around to the north (past D&B's) to the Earth City/Maryland Heights Expressway. The hour or more you will spend in this gridlock will be a major buzzkill to the post-show high you'll still be on. If, however, you fork over the cash for the VIP parking (the light gray lot), you'll exit to the south and be on the Expressway literally within minutes. Security & Venue Staff - While I've seen some minor improvements here and there lately, my biggest complaint about this venue has always been the Gestapo-esque attitude of the security and venue staff. This all stems from the infamous Axl Rose incident/riot in '92. I will say that they seem to be a bit more lax for artists whose primary audience is older adults, but by and large they keep a tight rein on people attempting to enjoy themselves (legally or otherwise). The main thing that'll get you in trouble is tailgating in the parking lot, but even then, the cops are always roving around on their ATVs and pretty much stop things before they get started. Also, if you are one who likes to take "A Passage To Bangkok" , better wait till the sun goes down or use the Johnny-On-The-Spot. On the brighter side, they will let you bring in a sealed bottle of drinking water and pretty much any food items that aren't in metal or glass containers (small, collapsable coolers or plastic grocery bags only). Other Stuff To Do - Since the show is on a Friday night, and if you out-of-towners aren't in any hurry to get outta Dodge, the Cardinals are in town that weekend against the Braves (in addition to visiting Wrigley and Fenway, taking in a home Cards game should be on every diehard's to-do list). Of course, there's also The Arch, Six Flags, Anhueser-Busch Brewery, Forest Park, et al. And if you want a bit of Vegas to your trip, and don't want too journey to far from the Riverport area, Harrah's Casino is a stone's throw from the venue (on that map, near the upper-lefthand corner, right by the Missouri River). So that's all I know for now. If you have other questions or whatever, let me know and I'll do my best to answer.

Nim2
QUOTE (Brewtus @ Aug 5 2007, 03:22 PM) the traffic leaving is a fukcing nightmare. Traffis out was worse than a Nightmare. I sat still in my car for about 30 minutes without moving an inch. The only bright spot wa that the local station, KSHE played about 20 straight RUSH songs for the ride home.
