Jack Aubrey Posted December 2, 2004 Share Posted December 2, 2004 Movie Web reports: The Fog: According to The Hollywood Reporter, British helmer Rupert Wainwright has signed on to direct the remake of John Carpenter's classic horror thriller The Fog for Revolution Studios. Debra Hill, David Foster and Carpenter are producing the film, which Cooper Layne is penning from the screenplay written by Hill and Carpenter for the original 1980 film. Wainwright, whose credits include 1999's Stigmata, had been due to direct MGM's Blood and Chocolate but is now expected to leave that project, for which MGM is likely to enlist a new director. "Fog" is set in a Northern Californian town about 100 years ago where a ship sank under mysterious circumstances in a thick, eerie fog.
