Crimson Emotions
In 1990, with the theme of magic, I really wished Rush had gone ahead & done a clip from the old Rocky & Bullwinkle show, which i think would have been appropriate & amusing. Hey Rocky-watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat. Again? "Presto" (out comes a lion). "Guess I don't know my own strength" "And now here's seomthing you'll really like" From there, they could have slammed into Tom Sawyer or Big Money or something with a kickass opening chord. I think that is definitely a better idea than the relatively tepid ASoH opener they used for the Presto & RTB tours.
Arndrake
Could have been a question of licensing. Also, they may have not considered it. For the longest time, they have probably considered the Three Stooges opening to be more appropos.
Crimson Emotions
QUOTE (Arndrake @ Mar 25 2007, 04:26 PM) Could have been a question of licensing. Also, they may have not considered it. For the longest time, they have probably considered the Three Stooges opening to be more appropos. I'm pretty sure this was an idea that never crossed the band members' minds, but I had thought at the time that this would have been an amusing way to open the show (assuming licensing issues were resolved). It seemed to fit the band's quirky sense of humor perfectly.
