What album are you really digging right now? Could be one you've just discovered, rediscovered, or just happen to like...you could hate it by tomorrow, but what is your album of the moment?

For me? Genesis- Foxtrot (rediscovery)

I bet I'll be back before I sign off tonight -- at least once.

you?

I picked this up the other day and I'm well impressed...

It's a perfect blend of metalic chaos and cleverly thought out, structured music. It's literally almost a symphonic force of nature. Alien is the perfect title too, it's like world war III on Mars with a futuristic orchestra scoring the action; the sound of the alien ships and the soundtrack blended and fused together in a tidal wave of innovative power...

Leo Parker...little known baritone sax player. Its amazing to me what they can dig out of the vaults, considering they are a corporate entity and I'm probably one of three people who bought this 653.gif

Daryl Hall - Sacred Songs. Robert Fripp said that if RCA released Sacred Songs when they were suppose to everyone would think differently about Daryl Hall. Great stuff. Seriously.

I've wanted to hear this one for a while, actually. I'll keep an eye out for it.

Mose Allison on piano. The very one who would go on and write Young Man Blues...

Excellent idea for a thread...I may well check out the Decemberists, but I'm really posting to say 'Good review Puppetking' and 'Treeduck, I doff my hat for such writing'

Yes, keep an eye out for it. It has a little bit of everything. It's essentially a very intelligent pop album. It mixes pop, soul, ambient, and punk. Great hooks. Great melodies. Great musicianship. Very experimental. And the man can sing!

Oh, I know he's talented, I just don't care for Hall & Oates at all. Great at what they do, but really not my genre. I'll check this out for sure.

Dream Theater- Awake

THAT is a MASTERPIECE!

I love the Pink Floyd influence on that album.
