Oh and for what it's worth, here's how I used to win on Oregon Trail:

 

When you get to the point where you're buying stuff, find something you can live without for one turn (ammo for example), when it asks you how much money you want to spend on it, put in -1000000 (negative one million). The program then SUBTRACTS what you typed (a negative number) from your money... thus ADDING a million bucks to your bank without even noticing!

 

Then you're pretty much all set for the trip, and if you do somehow run out of money later on, you can always do it again biggrin.gif
