THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

The Patriots are lucky but just maybe they make or create their own luck. It's been 47 years I've been a fan, back when they were bad or worse than the Cleveland or the Saints franchise of the 70's.

That said it's going to be a great game, even though the Patriots are probably the MOST hated team in pro sports. One thing for sure they will definately give sports fans a close nail biting game.

Not bad.

This is why I shake my head at all those who hate the Patriots so much. They have never been invincible. Every Super Bowl win was a close game.

If teams are sick of the Patriots winning all the time, then they have to man up, play better and beat 'em. It's that simple.

Brady = GOAT.

Sadly, you're correct.

Not sadly, imo.

Patriots star went to Chiefs' locker room to speak to Patrick Mahomes after game

Classic game, "classy" gesture afterward. When the Patriots beat the Chiefs in overtime to reach the Super Bowl, Tom Brady made an unusual move in regard to opposing quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Reporter Jeff Darlington of ESPN tweeted that "Brady just quietly approached a security guard waiting outside the Chiefs' locker room—and asked if he could see Patrick Mahomes." Then "Brady was escorted into a room where he spoke briefly with him. A very clear display of respect from one incredible quarterback to another."

Class move by a true sportsman.

I hope, and want to see the Los Angeles Rams beat by winning Super Bowl Fifty-three against the New England Patriots. I want to start seeing other teams win particular, important games instead of New England.

I believe since 2001 some 18 years ago, the PATRIOTS have played in HALF of the Super Bowls. That may never be done again.

In the case of the conference final, the Pats benefited from an act of sheer stupidity by the KC Cheifs. KC had the game won -- up by three with less than a minute to go, and they had just intercepted Brady. At that point, all they had to do to beat the Pats was pretty much nothing. They had it. Just run the clock out. But the interception was negated by a KC lineman who was about a mile and a half offside. He was so far offside it's unfathomable that he didn't notice. Interception negated, Pats get a second life from almost certain death, and they march down the field for the winning TD. Sure it took great skill and resolve to get that TD with less than a minute to go, but holy shit, did the Cheifs hand them that second chance.

Back in 2007, the Ravens had the Patriots beat during the regular season. They stopped them on 4th down with about a minute left.

BUT, their defensive coordinator had called timeout on the sideline just before the snap, so the refs negated the play. The Patriots then made the 1st down and went on to win the game. The Ravens' players were quite irate.....

Both. But that takes nothing away from their phenomenal run which is probably the greatest run of success in U.S. team sports history.

New York Yankees 1921-1964: 29 World Series appearances in 43 years. 20 Championships. 1 Four-peat, 1 Five-peat

Boston Celtics 1956-1969: 12 NBA Finals appearances in 13 years. 11 Championships. 8 consecutive Championships (1958-1965)

The difference in those incredible runs is no free agency back then. That's a huge difference.

Yes. And also the fact that there were about half as many teams in the leagues, one or two rounds of playoffs and a decent percentage of great players were not allowed to play.

The winning in Boston has been nothing short of incredible. ALL four major sports teams battle for their championships every year in making the playoffs and getting into the title game. Sort of makes up for all the losing when I lived in the city back in 1970.

Peace

It gets better in our house. We're BC hockey fans. So add four more titles to the total.

In mine its Boston University with some ⁵partiality towards BC. Once took an accounting class at Boston State is that school still around? I think BU won a title in that time frame right.

Peace
