I've got a hell of lot of Rush stuff (every studio track including Not Fade Away and Can't Fight It) and some bootlegs loaded onto my hard drive and just have them playing on shuffle. I am glad you said this Proggy! because I was beginning to feel like I was not a real Rush Fan. I get sick of all Rush songs,just out of sheer oversaturation. I could tell you, though , which songs/albums lasted longer than others. Even though I was 16 when Hemispere came out. I listened to it for about a year before it rested. Ok, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this way. Tell you guys the truth, until last week, I hadnt listened to the Grace Under Pressure album all the way through in over half a year. Then just decided to pop it in, and it was every bit as enjoyable as the first time. Dont get me wrong though, I have listened to every single one of their studio albums (and live, and bootleg ) hundreds of times each, but it gets to a point where if you listen to it again, it doesnt retain that same feel it once had. Shelf it for a year or so, and come back and its like a brand new album. But then, after I had practically gotten the entire Rush catalogue, I slowly started to shift towards the other music in my collection and concentrate on buying music from other artists. And the fun thing is: after having listened to other music, it's always great to come back to Rush and compare the style of playing or the structure of the songs to other bands. It sort of gives the music more of a context. But I'm not saying you should give up listening to Rush exclusively if you so wish, NPF, it's your choice, my friend, and as long as you enjoy it, good for you!
