They're all good, but I voted for La Villa mainly due to it's total and complete awesomeness. :D-13:

On the best instrumental thing i'd do one without la villa which is clearly always going to go down as the greatest rock instrumental ever, by any band, just isnt fair to bracket all the rest with it.

In that event, i'd probably go for Limbo but it's tight.

With La Villa  a given, I'd put the Main Monkey  Business on top after that.

Without the wonderful Snakes instrumentals this poll is no longer up to date.

I voted Villa, but Snakes deserves to be included.

Incredible old school poll!  YYZ will always be my number one.  I have 6 California license plates over the years with YYZ somehow on them!

56-17????  Jesus!!   Looks like a typical San Francisco 49er loss.

La Villa is wonderful and fun to play with also on the drums, but YYZ just gets me.  Those killer bass and drum fills.

YYZ FOREVER!

A guy from London posted over in Making Modern Music an interesting collection of instrumentals, most of which are variations on RUSH songs.  Here's one based on Middletown Dreams.

I'll post this in the synth era thread too.

La Villa. Come on now, how often do you hear a rock n roll piece written in classical format?
