Pags
QUOTE (Slaine mac Roth @ Nov 10 2004, 05:54 PM) Its not affected me in any way - I've always loved CP Not talking about a new discovery. I'm talking about a re-awakening - which happens several times per year. It's just at the top of the list this week, that's all.
Drumnut
I have not listened to CP in a while but "Animate" has to Be one of the best opening tracks!

Earthshine
I like it overall. It seems to get better as it goes on. Neil being recorded counting it off was a first for them on record.
treeduck
I've always loved the album, a return to the hard rocking guitars of the very early 80s but blended and balanced with the sophistication of later works. Great production too, the drums sound LIVE in your living room!! (or wherever)...
goose
I guess I'm in a real minority, but after about a minute of the song, which begins with great promise, I quickly lose interest. I'm not a big fan of Neil's writing that relies on repetitive rhyme - Neurotica is another example. On the other hand, I love "I think I'm Going Bald", so tmaybe I should just shut up. PhilH
I'm with everybody who liked the song on CP, but adored it on R30. Mind you, R30 was my first ever Rush gig, so I adored every little bit of it.
Rush!
I have yet to buy CP, but the R30 version of this song is great. Very good, upbeat track!

Kudzu
I don't like it. The lyrics are a bunch of intellectual-sounding, multisyllabic words thrown into a vaguely mythological soup by the Professor, nothing truly profound or hard-hitting at all. If I want heavy, there's better progressive metal out there. I do like the added voice layers on the chorus and the winding bass line, but as Rush songs go, this is definitely in the lesser 25% of them.
