Ill try to do the one form my OB-8 tomorrow

Got 'em.

The OB-8 sounds awesome-very authentic-sounding Rush circa 1981.

If there are any Rush samples of mine that you would like to hear,

let me know and I'll send some waves your way...

Thanks again,

I think I am pretty set up for everything from farewell to kings to signals between the minimoog,op-x and ob-8.
If anyone has any patches for grace under pressure for any PPG VSTs that would be great....

I've got pretty much everything from Red Sector A sampled, from the thumping bass synth to the polyphonic synth using a JP-8 patch.

Perhaps you could import my samples into your soft synth and go from there...

:rush: I would be happy to share the patch itself, but according to Roland Corporation, there is no universal standard for transferring patch data from the Fantom-X to another manufacture's device (such as a PPG virtual studio) in wave file format. So samples are the only option that I'm aware of...

Hey everyone. So, random question. Can someone give me some sort of authentic list of synths Geddy used on different albums? I know there are plenty out there, but I'm not to keen on trusting Wikis. Plus, you guys know what you're talking about

ATTN: Synth Players/Programmers

Does anyone have any good synthesizer samples from Power Windows?

In particular, the elaborate section of The Big Money leading into verse one?

Also, anything from Grand Designs, Manhattan Project, and Middletown Dreams.

Thanks in advance.

Hi
I'm new to this Forum but it was brought to my attention whilst I was searching for places where I might be able to source some sound samples for our Rush tribute band.
We do not have a keyboard player so we are pre-recording synth sounds which we trigger play back onstage through a bluetooth pedal board. We can record most things but we are looking for some special effects that we cannot otherwsie replicate and specifically we were looking for a sample of the opening synth effect right at the beginning of Presto. when I googled the search words it pointed me to this Forum. I then saw a thread going back to 2010 in which some Members were posting to each other about sample WAV files and the beginning of Presto was one of those files that was in the topic of the conversation.
Can anyone help me to locate a sample for that please?
Thanks
Pratt

I was able to create a six-second sample using wave pad. It starts just after the drum beat and ends just before the acoustic guitar so it would be possible to incorporate into a live performance setting if you timed everything just right. I'm not sure what you are using to playback samples, but if you would like, I can send you a wave file to import into your own sampler. Midi-map it to your pedal board and then trigger it live.

Many thanks RR, that could do it. We are new to playing back samples. We recently bought a pedal board called a Blueboard by IK multimedia. We record backing tracks in garageband, which are mp3 files and then play them back through the blueboard. It is working a treat. Im not sure if WAV is a midi file though or similar to a mp3 type file but yes please could you send it to us? Do you do this by sending me a PM or something?
Thank you so much!

I can email you an Mp3 of the sample if you would like. Simply import it into garageband and then trigger with the Blueboard just as you would with your backing tracks.

Hey, so I'm completely new to all of this stuff...

Just recently purchased a PK-5A and I have it connected via midi to my ultranova Synthesizer and am able to play a full octave of notes which is awesome, however I want to do more!

What software and hardware do I need to be able to have my PK-5A trigger samples and other sounds?

Thanks for the help in advance!

Hello there:

So if your PK-5A is set to "MONO" or "POLY" mode, and both it and your synth are set to MIDI channel 1 (for instance) in order to play a live sound patch as you mentioned, then you would first need to switch the pedal-board to "DRUMS" mode and then set the PK-5A and your synth to MIDI channel 10 (for instance) in order to trigger samples from the board. If your synth is set-up anything like mine, you are able to assign samples to a rhythm kit or pad bank, which operates on a separate MIDI channel from your live sound patch. No special software or hardware is required if you have an on-board sampler and drum/rhythm kits to assign samples to. Please see pages 9-10 of your PK-5A owner's manual for more information on how to do this.
