I had the pre-op stuff done this morning, and the anesthesia resident told me they'd be using a general. I told him that the surgeon mentioned "twilight" and he said he didn't see a problem with general sedation since I'm in good health.

He told me just to talk to the doctor on surgery day and they'd do what was best.

Oh, good! I'm glad you'll be more at ease with that. I will have you in my thoughts. hug2.gif

Update - my period started Friday, 3 days early and since that day my boob's fine. No tenderness. I was gonna talk to the doctor but it sorted itself out before I got a chance to call them. I'll keep an eye on it in the future.

Ghost Girl, I've been keeping up with your recent posts. How you getting on hun?

The tumor was benign...found out today. Officially, a fibroadenoma. I'm still sore and not quite ready to go back to work, even though the nurse said that MOST women are back in 3 days. Bully for them.

Thanks to all my friends for supporting me. I am grateful.

Update:

So it happened again. I spoke to the doctor yesterday. Typically it isn't as tender this month. She checked me over and said that although there's a very slim chance that there was anything wrong - she couldn't find anything - she has referred me get it checked out by a specialist who may suggest a mammogram because I had said that the tenderness was in the same place and it was a recent occurance. It did hurt when she checked so I could show her exactly where. She also recommended Evening Primrose Oil and said if that worked I didnt have to follow up on the referral.

I'm back from the hospital. Doctor checked me over. She said there wasn't any lumps or anything. She said everything's fine, it's only cyclical breast pain. She's given me a leaflet to read through and suggested that, because I wasn't getting on with the Evening Primrose Oil, I should try Starflower Oil instead. The leaflet also contains some other remedys that may help. She also said that whenever there are any new symptoms/discomfort anywhere that it is the right thing to do getting it checked out.

It's just nice to hear Im ok and have my mind set at ease.
