Dark Horizons reports:

Johnny Depp has succeeded in his attempts to get Rolling Stones guitarist Keith ('Egyptian voodoo spells and monkey's blood keep me alive' -Jack) Richards on board the sequel to "Pirates Of The Caribbean" according to UK Yahoo.

Richards, the inspiration behind Depp's now legendary Captain Jack Sparrow character from the first, has agreed to play Sparrow's father in both of the hit movie's forthcoming sequels which will be shot simultaneously.

Richards has apparently already had a costume fitting in preparation for filming which is due to start at the end of February and could continue right through til the start of 2006.

Richards joins all the returning stars including Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, Mackenzie Crook Geoffrey Rush (despite dying at the end of the first film) and director Gore Verbinski.

Uh...

this was reported back in April.

It was reported that they were trying to get Richards, this is the first bit of news that confirms it.

Actually April is when I heard that he was going to do it. I heard they were trying to get Richards back in February.

So, do you want me to delete my post or something?

No, I'm just saying that this has been known for a while.

Well, I hope that you don't think less of me because of it.
