One aspect of Rush that I love is the long instrumental sections of songs that have lyrics.

Such as the long intro in Xanadu and Hemispheres, or the long instrumental section in Jacob's Ladder.

My favorite instrumental used to be "YYZ", but now it's "The Main Monkey Business" for sure!! The live version rocks!  1022.gif
"MalNar" is also pretty cool

Too bad none of the S&A instrumentals were listed...

I still would have picked YYZ, but TMMB or MalNar would have been right up there at the top.

Edit:  Oh duh... this was started back in 2005!  eh.gif

QUOTE (Show Don't Tell @ Sep 12 2007, 03:40 PM)
TMMB is amazing!

That's the fact jack!!

My mouth was hanging wide-open during the entire song.  Just staring at them playing it 8ft in front of me.  One of the best songs of the entire show... IMO.

If I had all of those songs at my fingertips, I'd play YYZ first.  Thats how I answered this one.  YYZ just gets me going.

"Where's My Thing?" It's really smooth and complex. But I gotta say that "Malignant Narcissism" takes a close second.

Oh, and who else is lovin' "Hope"?!

I got Where's My Thing stuck in my head the other day, and I'd have to say YYZ is probably the highest quality song, but Leave That Thing Alone is my favourite...

The intro 'judder' live is amazing..
