Of course the Sammy crap is winning here.

The Van Hagar Fans outweigh the real Van Halen Fans here on this site. Always have, always will.

We used to have some fun arguments about real Van Halen vs the Van Hagar crap.

The good old days.

David Lee Roth BLOWS Sammy Fairygar AWAY!!!!!

I think the Van Halen fans on here back Eddie over Roth and that's the true deciding factor. Sammy is just a bystander.

Eddie and Dave > Eddie and Sammy, Dave > Sam. It`s simple, whatever Dave`s on brings the best out of Ed.

Yeah but my point is as long as it's Eddie on one side and Roth on the other, a lot of VH fans will always back Eddie come what may.

I get it, I know some people here think that and lots on VHND did too. I love Eddie more than any other musician but it`s nuts to say anything after 1986 was as good as `78-84.

I know. After 1984 there was something missing from Eddie's playing, the tone wasn't the same, the energetic attack, the swing wasn't there, the grit was missing.

Absolutely! The Brown Sound turned into the Frown Sound! What the Fukk Eddie? Greatest guitar player ever.

Sammy took his balls!

Totally! That's "One Testicle Out The Door!"

That fuckking Hammy Sagar record with Eddie on the bass. Pure SHITE.

Sammy needs to be "Spanked."

What's wrong with Hagar's voice these days? He sounds like his vocal chords have shrunk!

I mean he IS in his 70s. That much touring and tequila catches up to you.

You guys are delusional. Eddie's playing changed as he got old, and aged like a fine wine right up to his last show.

Sammy's voice is still AMAZING. The human voice never stops changing, and his voice is obviously no different.

Yeah, he "sucked". Here's an example of Eddie and Sammy KICKING ASS, my man...tell me this tone is not spot on, and that his playing is not jut as aggressive as it was when Roth was in the band:

He didn't do this consistently though, and he didn't produce his best on the Hagar-era albums.

Going slightly off-topic ,and I know that technically

the album came out in the autumn / fall of ‘90 , but during 1991

( as much as I obviously highly rated both then

& still now both DLR’s & VH’s ‘91 releases ) I

was at the time more blown away by the Extreme II - Pornografitti album ,

and mesmerised by Nuno Bettencourt’s playing.

Nuno was obviously very influenced by Eddie and was by adding more of the

funk-metal element , dare I say it , doing his best to even try and

take Ed’s style a little further forward.

I know ‘ Get the Funk Out ‘ is also one of Brian May’s all time favourite solos ! :-)

Earl the Raiders just lost to the Bears. So the 3-0 start has turned into 3-2.

Eddie's guitar tone will always be my favorite however on F.U.C.K. I don't really care for the production.

Power drills and guitars FTW

I think that apart from his own solo stuff , Sammy was better in

both Montrose and the short-lived HSAS project
