  3. 3. Which song gets 17th place?

I'm voting in whatever fashion helps remove Working Man.

A great song for a typically great band, but pedestrian for Rush.

Of course, if one of my favorite actual Rush songs becomes endangered I'll vote to save it.

It's always odd to me that the debut isn't the consensus last place album.

And I don't hate it, but it's always been the 'one of these things is not like the other' to me.

As fairly early RUSH adopters, the debut was an album my friends and I would often rock out to. The Debut, All the World's A Stage, and 2112 were the big three, so there is sentimental value to the album for me. Plus, the playing is fantastic.

For me, the debut is a good rocker. Songwriting isn't all that great but it does have that feel of Led Zep Jr. I will take that any day over the synth albums or the 'no balls' guitar albums. I would rate it somewhere between 8th and 10th in my list of Rush albums.

I've never disliked the debut, it rocks. I'm not even someone who only acknowledges Working Man. I actually love 'Take A Friend' would you believe.

But I can't put that band's work up against a good Rush song and expect it to win. For me, the debut was put out by a different band featuring some of the same musicians. A complete lyrical overhaul and a much greater musical complexity fundamentally changed the band.

I still listen to the debut. The playing was incredible and foreshadowed so much.

I just can't put Working Man above any of those other songs.

It would beat a lot of Rush songs- it's a good song. It's better than Tai Shan, Tears, Stick It Out, Madrigal.

I turned up the radio every time it came on when I was a kid

Marathon is still alive while Driven is dead?

:wtf:

That's because Marathon is way better than Driven ;)

Not really. Marathon was another wave, not even the tallest one, in the sea of mediocre boringness that was Power Windows.

Driven and Dreamline were like a couple of tsunamis in the otherwise dreckish decade of 90s Rush.

The weird thing about Marathon winning Power Windows is that pretty much every other song on that album is better. It might be better than Emotion Detector.

I didn't start voting yet, you folk went through a lot of albums before I knew this was happening.

Obviously not worth voting to immune the big ones yet.

But why is Far Cry being targeted? Come on, it's the best thing they did for a while before Angels and towers over at least the 3 previous albums' "top" songs.
